We've all heard the jokes, seen the pictures and depictions in movies-just wondering if we have Irish versions of Rednecks roaming the land?
Does anybody know of a BillyBob or Cleetus down their neck of the woods and what are your experiences meeting these strange folk?

    One here anyway!

But the Allman Brothers Band are the best.

I've had my folks say there is a bit of hillbilly in me.

I play blues guitar, play harmonica, wear plaid shirts, live and breath classic rock and texas blues and below is a picture of my amplifier.

Do their mullets not work as a sun shield for their necks? Business at the front, party at the back. They should have a redneck of the year competition at the Ploughing Championships, mightn't be fair though-the participants will probably be all related-git her done boy!!

I was in a supermarket a couple of weeks ago and I saw a guy wearing a sleeveless T shirt with a long, luxuriant, flowing mullet halfway down his back.

    That's pretty f&ckin redneck.

I should have taken a picture of him when he wasn't looking and put it up here: http://www.ratemymullet.com/?page=top

Now, what we got here, is a failure, to communicate.

Our rednecks are knackers, but they dont even compare to the real american rednecks. They are in a league of their own.

I've started to notice a few "damn liberals" comments on boards of late so obviously we do have a few rednecks.

Take a trip to Duleek or Slane and visit a bar.
    That will answer your question.

Met a few of em one day,car engines in the garden, mongrel dogs wandering around the house, foul mouth wife with bad teeth, useless husband and idiot kids in sleeveless t-shirts sitting in a car up on blocks.Don't need to go to the States to find honest to goodness rednecks. It's also a bit worrying the amount of folk that like country music in Ireland.

Anyone linked to that thread about the travellers horseracing on the street yet?

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.
