And in addition to what coolwings says, anothe rthing to help with neat casting is having more line off the reel than you intend to cast.
When you're casting and when the forward momentum of the line can no longer be expended because there's no more line to go out, the energy gets transfered back onto the reel where the line stops dead in the air and tends to slap downward on the water.
Have just a little bit more than the distance you intend to cast and the line will hit the water while still going forward, albeit gently, and will make very little disturbance in comparison.
*I dont mean having half the fly line around your feet, just a couple of feet longer than the casting distance.
