I'm gonna be staying in Gort too :)
It looks nice from the pics on the site..I guess we'll find out In 2 weeks!

Good luck with the offers tomorrow!

For student accomodation, Gort is great. Been there a fair few times and it's very nice. Looks nice aswell, proper heating system most importantly.

I would still recommend Corrib Village for any first year..

I lived in Gort last year and I absolutely loved it! I was a first year too and didnt know anyone in Galway but I found it so easy to make friends with everyone in Gort, def get to know your neighbours early on because they won't mind if your abit too noisy having a party or stuff like that! Security isn't too bad, like they can be strict at times but most of the time you can do what u want and have people over and have the craic and that. It's super near the college too, although I'll admit that walk over the bridge every day wasn't my most favourite thing! It's really handy for walking into town too, it's soo close! I'm living there again this year..woo cannot wait!!:):)

I was there today handin' in the lease and had a look at the place, I'd say yours is in the same row as mine, savage spot, facin' away from the security and nice grass area in front, perfect for a few cans in the September twilight :pac:

So they're houses and not apartments? :D

Wonder if they put all first years around that area or are we all scattered around the place?

Well I wasn't inside but by the looks of things its a row of terraced houses with 3 stories in each house.
I can also guarantee you will end up living with two hot, female, Amercians!

Now that sounds a lot better!:P

Hopefully, even loading youtube videos on it last year was a pain! I doubt it will actually be 10mb though, anything above dial up speeds like last year would do!

It has a few in it, it's mainly 2/3rd years though. Don't worry were a friendly bunch anyway.

I wouldn't worry, I was the same when I moved down. Just be sound with the bouncers and don't be too drunk going in and there shouldn't be a problem. I'd say one thing though. Cuba and CPs are very strict with age. You still have pubs/house parties if you can't get in.
