The Nutrition X Seminars have been confirmed for the following dates:

    Monday 20th September UCC 7pm - 9pm

    Tuesday 21st September DCU 7pm - 9pm

As well as talks from Prof. Don MacLaren and Dr. Graeme Close, Paul Darbyshire, the strength and conditioning coach for Munster will also do a talk and Q + A on the night.

***If you would like to attend either of these seminars please post up which location you would like to book tickets for (max 2 pp) before Wednesday September 1st***

There are 30 tickets available for each location and will be distributed on a first come first served basis

The guys at Nutrition X have been in touch with me to let us know that they're going to be running some Nutritional Seminars this Autumn and they want to know what you, the Fitness-minded public would like to hear about :)

The Seminars will be given by Professor Don MacLaren and Dr Graeme L. Close (both Sports Nutritionists, more information can be found on the Nutrition X website) and they'd like to tailor-make the talks to feature information on what people would like to hear about (as opposed to what they think you ant :D). The current structure of these seminars includes information on the following topics, but is there anything that's not in this list that you think would be of value?

    1. Science of sports nutrition
    2. Eating for lean muscle gain
    3. How to reduce bodyfat
    4. top 10 nutritional mistakes made by athletes
    5. supplements to maximize performance and recovery
    6. Q and A

Needless to say when the date/ time/ location are all confirmed they'll be supplied, and it's a free event, so it will definitely be worth a trip to go to :)

Many thanks to Nutrition X for getting in touch about this!

    **** Edit for Ticket Allocations/Availability ****

If anybody books tickets and then finds that for whatever reason they cannot not attend or do not require both tickets, could you please post in thread or PM one of the Moderators, who can update this list.

Have you finished writing all that stuff up yet or are you going to add more to that thread?

Doesn't seem to be any more questions...everybody knows it all already and is 100% on top of the subject :)

I'm actually really bad....but trying to do better.

Good to see someone trying to do something positive in the nutritional area though. I hope the seminar goes well.

No, you're a great teacher and you get great results. You're just crap at the internet :D It's just not a huge amount of fun to get into debates with you because I know from the offset that I'm going to get annihilated :p

All the pre/post nutrition information so graciously and lovingly provided by your good self is up in the Stickies now, merci buckets for all the effort :)

Sounds great, do you think it would be down in Shannon/Limerick or up in Dublin?

I guess it depends on the amount of interest?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,819 ✭✭✭✭g'em

Cork for definite and Dublin if the interest is there :)

    Done :)

Got a PM suggesting a topic too:
I'd love them to cover the role of specific chemicals in the blood resulting in specific body site fat storage. Eg, cortisol leading to abdmonial fat accumulation.
