Decent game I played yesterday, watchin the replay it was closer than I thought till near the end. Nice long macro game, 6 bases by the end with most expos on the map mined out or close to.

Was checking your profile btw last night, if I didnt say it before, gratz on the sterling rise to the top of Diamond with a seriously impressive 2000+ rating.
Ty. 2.2k diamond is hardly top though :|. It's pretty average.

Yeah, he'd lost long before though, he didn't blow a scan when I warped in a DT to intercept his attack either so I guessed he had no energy, did a  then just rolled him.

I think that al lthe time, more annoying cause i love the game and wish I was good at 1v1, thinking of sticking Terran and working hard, instead of jumping races to try different **** out

I'll leave that for team games ;)

Yeah, well I'll probably be laddering less after using the TL ts server for the first time and managing to get a few games. Will hopefully find more 2k+ people to play. Had a pretty nice game with a 2.6k Z... who eventually crushed me.

    mmmmmmm baneling... :D

Right... a PvT and a PvZ, PvT ends up as a late macro game and the PvZ is well. Let's abuse everything as much as possible.

    Double post but hey.

**** PvP. Especially scrappy ones like this.

I was raging in frustration on the TL TS3 server.

A good game I had earlier on Jungle basin against Zerg, the type of match I used to lose all the time

Anyone watch the Dreamhack Steel Series competition, been watching it on www.Day9tv.blip.tv

Took a while but the grand final was well worth watching.

It was quite possibly one of the most painful PvT series I've ever seen. There were 4 other protoss who I would have put money on to beat that T in that competition.

thats actually why i enjoyed it, was really hoping for the underdog to pull through, the two games he took where painstaking and where fought for, while the other 3 games were complete steamrolls.

........the two games he took where painstaking and where fought for, while the other 3 games were complete steamrolls.
indeed. The protoss player was reactive for most of all 5 games. While top level protoss players may have been grinding their teeth, I as a bronze level spectator I was enjoying the spectacle......

A 2v2 with me and RoyalMarine. He whined about 6 pool and didn't die slowly enough!, I still almost managed to win the game though. :D

edit: i did whine. cos its a ****in stupid tactic and should be blocked!

    regards rm :p

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators Posts: 10,156 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tenger

Very well done Nesf. Thought you were a goner 2 mins after RoyalMarine quit. Those two should had 2 expos each up by the time you were able to amass those speedlings.

Really a shame you didn't get the win. You deserved it after wiping out their bases. The muta choice by the blue guy was all that managed to get them the win. At keast you got the acknowledgement of this from your opponents.

been using the quick double forge against terran today that GSL
hongun used in game 1 vs rain
, seems pretty sick. had a game here that i was planning on going dts but i had to switch it up suddenly

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,997 ✭✭✭Grimebox

i sometimes go for that funky. you should hotkey your two forge to 6 or whatever. It reminds me to keep the upgrades pumping

How do you guys afford a double forge? I mean, unless you're not teching charge and temp archives. I nearly always get +1 armour after I f/e and have 4gates, then a robo, TC, charge, TA then Storm. The timing seems to work out that I can get +1 wep/armour before my TC finishes if I dump all my chrono onto upgrades/gates.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,798 ✭✭✭Funky

I've just been massing gateway units from 5/6 gates while chronoing the upgrades, usually after a 1 gate expo. Then when I'm taking my third I start templar tech. I'm still teching charge off 2 base too though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭NeoSlicerZ

I'm running into a bunch of builds that skip marauders so I rarely skip the robo. I usually 2 base templar after charge which I use all chrono on (because I go templar I don't have excess FFs) and drop stalkers entirely after my first 3-4. Then go SG tech on 3 base.

Brilliant use of Hallucination in this one

I'd even go as far as to say the reason he won was because his opponent thought it was his real army and saw it was gg time when in reality it was not!

Thats fantastic,if quite mean........you bad bad man.

I had previously wondered if this would be a viable tactic. Wonder will it work on 2v2?
.............and then the horrible move of going through the corpse of the zerg to get the terran through the back door, no wonder there was no GG!!! Did you think to leave the zerg hatch at 20-30% health, thus allowing you to go for the others sooner?
Maybe if the terran spamed raxs/marines he could have stopped ye, he had 1500 minerals at the end?

The question (in relation to another thread) is whether this is cheese or an all in. No way to defend against this move so I would call it a cheese. However I like that ye did hold back a little to slllooooowwwlly macro up back at home.

Its not a realistic strat at all tbh. We tried it around ten times and this was the only time we won outright. Most times we lost to a quick counter, other times we won/lost after a long game since we more or less canceled out each others economy. In that particular game, they didn't co-ordinate their workers at all so we could run riot on the first guy we attacked. We learned not to go for terran first since he can just lift off. On some maps the distance is just too far so they are slightly better prepared. I figured it was best to try and take out the hatch so we could eliminate one player entirely. The long games were funny because it was around 10mins into the game and we were just getting started building our bases.

Either way I highly recommend you try it. We were laughing our asses off over vent :D

Really enjoyed watching this - lengthy enough but worth it imo. Incontrol was giving the MrBitter player lessons and this was one such game. Could this be MrBitter's chance to finally get a win?

    🤪

uploading two games. I won both these, and in the tvp I think I played pretty well the tvz i just did my general strategy V zerg.. macro up and suicide wave after wave of units into their army and hope I win.

rather than upload games where I know I played awful I wanted criticism on games where I thought I was playing well, i can pretty easily spot the mistakes in my ****ty games.. but when I win I tend to just gloss over it and go "yay, win" and move on.

so any thoughts anyone has on either of these games would be awesome (the tvp in particular, cos I was pretty happy with how I played there so am not very likely to see all the mistakes I made). the tvp is xelnaga, and the tvz is metalopolis.

    thanks all :)
