Used to listen to it in school.

Used to listen to it driving home from a mate's gaff late at night. But it enraged me every time, so for the safety of myself and other road-users, I don't any more. It is a sad reflection of the utter stupidity of some of the people in Dublin. And the presenters are equally moronic.

They have these new fancy things called Compact Discs. You can buy them in places called "Record Shops". On these fancy disc thingeys, they put music & you can play them on your tape machine, so you don't have to listen to what's on the wireless the whole time.

Last week I bought a compact disc with a man called Aero Smith singing on it. It's mighty stuff.

    "Lovin' an elevator
    Livin' in up
    When I'm on the town"

I used to listen to it but I got sick of all the rascist bigots, anti-drug rants and people railing against those on Social Welfare, not forgetting the scumbags, so I decided to give it up and join After Hours instead.

I started listening to it years ago when Chris Barry was on 104, Adrian and his sidekick were never as good. The topics now consist of 'Do you sleep with prostitutes' or 'Do you mind if your fella sleeps with prostitutes'.

All the scumbags from the Northsider , seem to be the only people who ring in bitching about there lives

It's a show you listen to the way you watch Jeremy Kyle. Even if you feel like absolute **** and switch it on, you'll instantly find someone a million times worse.

That's what it's like for me, it's sorta compulsive it angers me so much. As in, I nearly feel the urge to ring in and go mental. But then Kennedy wins, in fact, he's already won.

Yeah, shouting profanities at a car radio never seems to win any argument, so I figure it's best to drive in silence if I've left the mp3 player at home.

I honestly think some of the regular callers must be. One woman who rings in regular in particular is a proper brainless twat.

Good thinking, I'm not big into music though really.
I usually listen to Newstalk but since the football show on Off The Ball is off for a few weeks, I find myself switching over.

Think ranting on here will help anyway.

I never listen to the phone show anymore every time i put it on all i hear is people cheating or ladies doing this and that on nights out

The phone show used to be good when the had 98 fm as competitors used to be adrian kennedy and I think mark cagney when it was both show competing and actually put on good stuff thats going back a long time ago
now its just a sh1t show i dont even bother turing it on anymore its obvious most of it is staged and have callers planted

So you're advising straight radio listening then, yes?

I'm curious about other stations too though. If I stay in the closet I can sample these too without declaring my choice to the world yet.

    I'm confused. :o

    FYP

Their the people that give this show its listenership and keep it going, avoid taxis at all costs during the hours that its broadcast. Lest you be forced to listen to a moustachioed balding overweight stripey jumpered oulfella agree with every bigot caller, and then lecture you for not agreeing

This thread is starting to sound like an Adrian Kennedy phone show.

I seem to remember some story about Adrian Kennedy being convicted of drink driving.

Ok, people make mistakes and he went to court.
But three times over the limit??

I think he's doing a 'bit' from the show.
My favourite one is "d'ye seEEE yeew..." and the "you don't even know meeee" catchphrase already mentioned.

I used to listen to it in the 90's, before I had internets.
It all went to shít though, last time I listened to it, Adrian was just sitting back quietly, letting the callers shout over each other and repeat themselves... then a regular caller would sit pontificating for 20 minutes.
I don't think he even listened to them half the time... he'd let one person waffle on for 5 minutes, then get the other one started with "Now Jacinta, what do you think of THAT?"... then let them scream at each other for another 10 minutes.

But hey, if that's what gets more ratings... then people are getting the show they deserve.

Only 3 times? I'd need to be at least twice that drunk before I'd drive home from the pub.

he clearly doesn't eat alphabet soup, but that's another story entirely.
