Jury's Christchurch is the nearest car park. You're probably better on the Luas though.

Been on the red line Luas many a time after gigs, never a problem, just full of happy post-gig people, and Red Cow is my stop. There's an awful lot of media BS written about the red line

If you ask them they'll say 48hrs but, in my experience, it's usually more like a week or so

If going to the concerts in St Anne's Park check the Dublin Bus site for diversions.

eg H1 just going along Howth Road and some diversions on 130.

Thanks, no, dont need to be there before 6. Have the theatre rate booked. My only concern is how long it takes me from Citywest. I'll leave my office around 5. Can't see myself making it in, in an hour. Worst case, I dont get there until 6:30

For anyone who has been to any of the shows at Ormeau Park, Belfast so far this year! In previous years when you came out at the end of the gig and turned right there was always a number of shuttle buses waiting to bring people back into town. Are they there this year? Asking because Translink are saying on their website and on social media posts that there are no shuttle buses this year.

    Train to Malahide……(Iron Maiden)

Can I buy a return ticket on the day, or do I need to buy in advance?

Can the train after the concert be sold out?

What time is the last train?

I believe it’s a bit chaotic after the concert. I can put up with a bit of chaos as long as I get on the train.

Anyone know if I get a pitch ticket for my 10 year old daughter for Dua Lipa and I if we'd be refused? it says no U14's on pitch, but I find that crazy! she's tall enough that she may pass if they only glance at her.

Is the aviva just self scanning tickets like for the rugby? or are there stewards that would police us going onto the pitch?

    cheers

Does anyone know of a ticket resale site similar to Adverts or Toutless for UK gigs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,310 ✭✭✭Shakyfan

For anyone going to any of the remaining Ormeau Park gigs the answer to my earlier question is No! There are no shuttle buses into town afterwards. You have a near 30 minute walk back. There were a number of taxis sitting last night as we left Madness but they were for the best part ones that couldn't accept pick ups due to the licensing laws. A total joke when you consider there are several thousand people trying to make their way home.

For the National Stadium… anyone know if there's somewhere safe to lock a bike?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 62 ✭✭BAABAA96

fairly sure there’s racks almost right outside. Or Griffith college campus should be open and have a few racks hanging around

yeah, ones out of front are gone instantly. Few others on south circular as well

That's bad. No private operator saw an opportunity to make a few quid?

I know it's not the responsibility of a promoter to look after things like that, but it IS in their interest to ensure that people can get to and from their venue without undue difficulty. Bit of cop on required.

Translink have the monopoly here. The odd private operators from outside Belfast will lay on one or two coaches for the larger gigs to and from the larger towns. In all previous years there was a great shuttle bus service from the top of the road outside right into the city centre. The buses were lined up and as one filled it drove off and the next one pulled up. This year we have the "regular" service which usually amounts to 1 bus every 45 - 60 minutes at that time of day.

Scarlet Mist is the closest to Toutless in the UK. Otherwise Twickets is another option but they charge fees.

Had this with them the other week .

I deleted the app twice in the last 2 years because it just would not work and I was at one concert having to get somebody else to log in to my account on their phone to access our tickets as my phone froze on the app !

We were talking about it here and since then I have been downloading to Google Wallet from my account and no app involved.

Now you are blocked from accessing the tickets this way unless you download the app .

    Surely this is wrong.

You buy the tickets .The tickets are your property , you pay enough as it is to TM . Now you are obliged to download their useless app just to access said tickets on your phone .Is this just more money for TM ?

Is there anything to be said for a few letters to the Minister about this ?

Was at Maiden last night in Malahide, having thought about getting the Dart (coming from Bray) decided in the morning to get parking. €21 and happy out. Easy to get to, about 5 to 10 mins to the entrance and no messing get back to the car later. Usual tailback leaving but nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be.

Have to say the organisation at this Summer's concerts is very good . At Neil Young last night and no issues at all .

Do you think Ministers might have bigger fish to fry at present?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2, Paid Member Posts: 16,711 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

Well Andrew it's in the Minister's remit , ticket monopoly, price gouging and all that .

Wasn't there an enquiry called for all this last year before they changed over after the Oasis ticket debacle ?

Of course he has a lot on his plate but this is a legitimate ongoing issue affecting everybody who has to purchase tickets for any event from this crowd .
