You can't, I'm afraid. They're closed to new users. I believe they were getting too many scammers, particularly around Taylor Swift and Coldplay

Best bet is probably just lingering on Ticketmaster as much as you can for take tickets. There's two there now for the Weds

    They're open again...

Anybody any advice about Ticketmaster and accessing accounts.

I logged in prompted by a reminder about a gig next Friday . Was told to update to a new password which I did . It authenticated and then proceeded to request an update again ..and again . After 6 gos I have given up and it looks like I am locked out of my account and all my tickets . No way to contact them ? Just useless FAQs and a bot.

Imagine if this was concert night ?!

Is this a scam or just usual Ticketmaster bollxx?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,171 ✭✭✭✭Goldengirl

Got it sorted ..rant over 😁

    It was usual TM bxx!

However that question of what would you do if it was gig night is still relevant ..the site is so unreliable .

Yeah, a complete pain, various issues with both the site and the app. Earlier in the year I was trying for 20 minutes to open the app - in the end I had to uninstall and reinstall it.

Since then I save the QR code in Google wallet. Much more reliable.

Edit to add: I really miss the good old days where you could have a paper ticket...

Ticketmaster do give you the option of buying a paper ticket for most shows but it's about a fiver extra. Last time I did it wasn't so bad because it was a fiver for all tickets but not so great if you're only buying a single ticket. That was a while ago so it may be a per ticket charge now.

Exactly . Can:t even manage e-tickets with any success now.

I had to uninstall the app myself twice and last time it let me down I didn't reinstall so I guess this is my punishment 😁

I will send the tickets to my partner-in -music or download to Google wallet myself in future ,

3arena - Standing Tickets: is the specific use of entrance 1 and 3 enforced as stated on the ticket?

I have two tickets in my account for this Monday's gig at the 3arena (Anthrax, etc). Both are standing, but one is for entrance 1, the other for entrance 3.

What's the easiest way to get both of us in?

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 7,394 Mod ✭✭✭✭Irish Aris

It's not strictly enforce, can depend on crowds. I've got in from entrance 3 while my ticket said entrance 1. I wouldn't expect that you would have an issue.

The other option would be to transfer one ticket to your companion, if they have a ticketmaster account.

When you're looking to see what gigs are on in Dublin on a specific night is there a particular website that you use which has them all together?

Covers most gigs but some slip through the net; https://nialler9.com/dublin-gig-guide-may-20th-to-26th/

I also find the songkick app very good. For example, this is what it's showing for today...

Jeez, Bryan Adams looks different these days

    I'm partial to your abracadabra,

Thanks both, looks like the Nialler 9 one is better for the immediate week ahead with some details/views on the artist but the Songkick one is better for more long range planning.

You can only filter on Ticketmaster for date ranges and locations. Not perfect but would give you an idea.

Or if you're at the end of a row of people who are constantly in and out to the bar….

Theres a few gigs I want to take my 10 year old to (metallica and dua lipa) - both say no pitch standing for u14's. Does anyone know how strict this is?

My daughter has been to many gigs and has stood for the majority of them - we usually hang toward the back and works very well - we really don't like to sit.

At the aviva is it like the rugby where you scan your ticket yourself and wander on through? or will it be strict and they'll prevent kids from accessing the pitch/GA? would they kick us out - or just find seats for us if that happened?

    Thanks!

Anyone else having issues saving a ticket to Google wallet?

When I select the option on the Ticketmaster website it says it needs to log on to my Google account, when I try to that I get "Access blocked: authorisation error...because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy."

I had trouble for a while on an older Android 10 phone. Was working ok on OH's Android 11.

Is there any difference in behaviour for you on the app (with a new install) versus browser?

I've lost track of how many times I've removed the app and re-installed.

Yeah, I'd given up on the app but decided to try that - wouldn't transfer as it said my google amount and Ticketmaster account were different addresses, even though they're not

For the money they fleece us for, Ticketmaster are an abominable company for the customer experience (I realise that's not telling anyone here anything new 🤣)

Before gigs, I get emails about downloading the ticket and use the app and you can't even rely on the Ticketmaster app to download, have to involve Google Wallet. It's a joke.

Where would people recommend parking for a concert in the 3 Olympia?

Going to see Jimmy Eat World next Tuesday. Will have the car, as I need to work from Dublin (citywest) that day, and then drive back to Galway after the gig.

Was considering parking at the Red Cow Luas Park & Ride, or Fleet Street Q-Park

Benefits to the Red Cow, is that it will be quicker to get to from work, but have to take the Red Line, which I despised when I lived in Dublin 10 years ago. Sounds like it's only got worse, and I'll have to take it back to the Red Cow late at night again, delaying when I get back to Galway

Fleet Street seems like it could take me ages to get to, when travelling into the City Center for 6pm, but is close to the venue, and can hit the road straight after the gig

Other options, are some Park and Ride locations on the Green Line. Less dodgy than the Red Line, but will take longer to get to initially, and will also have to travel on the luas after the gig, delaying the time I leave Dublin

    Heuston Station?

Luas, Bus or even walk to/from Olympia (I refuse to use the 3 prefix...)

I use Fleet Street regularly when driving back home after a show. Very handy and a special Theatre rate of €9 between 6pm and 2am. Great for heading out of the City.

Would you need to be there for 6pm. It's quite early unless you need to queue.

Enjoy the show however you get there 😎

Free street parking after 7pm around Vicar St. Then walk to Olympia. Handy back out of the city too. Jervis St carpark is another option.
