may be of use to all those people who live in high deer density counties....

maybe the irish insurance federation, could apply this to people who live in certain areas, where deer are prone to be involved in vehicular collisions... (lateral thinking ....)

On a motorcycle forum I'm a member of there's a lot of debate on these, because in certain parts of US crashes with deer are common, and unfortunately highly likely to be fatal / injuring for the rider.

General consensus is they don't work, or at least there's no kind of evidence to show they do. Even if the deer do react to them they've no learning / instinct to react in any particular way to a whistling noise.

I reckon if someone put in a noise like a rifle a rifle bolt closing the deer wouldn't be too long legging it.
