In a world with no cars (i.e. just bikes and pedestrians) would there be traffic lights do you reckon?

Why move the goalposts now?

Avoiding the question because you know that the argument that cyclists should stop at red lights to protect pedestrians is a red herring?

If cyclists are allowed break the red light who's the winner when the cyclists collides with a pedestrian? I think it's a daft idea to give cyclists the descretion on which light they need to obey or ignore

It works well in many European cities. I guess there would be a period of adjustment.

As a regular cyclist (commuting) it makes sense as it makes cycling even more attractive as a time efficient travel method but i also see the dangers. Many Irish cyclists are not very astute cyclists like some of our European counterparts.

cars often break red lights around the city so its much safer to stop
not everyone has enough common sense to know when it would be safe to run a light on a bike

as a leisure cyclist I don't have any issue with stopping at red lights
what I would like to have is a timer of some sort so that I know when the light it about to change as there are junctions around which are very quick
take the one at Ivans cross for example.
generally speaking if there's a cyclist waiting the car behind runs the red light
    behind

Would Elverys and Lifestyle be the best places to look for a good backpack?

Try the camping shop on Foxes Bow. Thy sell Sporthouse bags which are very durable if that's what you're after.

Went through the tunnel twice today. Contraflow in action. Very weird having vehicles drive towards you in a near empty tunnel when it's uncommon like that.

Why do builders take on jobs when they dont have the people to do them ? Start a job & then dont see them for another 3 months. Either do the job or dont. You shouldnt havent taken the job if they dont have the people to do it.

Just a Quick Question. Would you be mad to come home to ireland From canada if u had a good job there. (when u come back u would have to find a job & house to rent & car insurance & everything)

Depends on whether you miss Ireland or your friends and family. You have a good job, but are you happy? Were you happy before you left? Did you leave cos you were unhappy?

Tnx It's a friend.he is doing better off there.if he came home he could be only on dole.Thats why he left to get a job. I was thinking he be mad to come home @ the moment cause no jobs there if u don't have Qualifications.

Without getting into the finer details like Shamrock suggested to ask yourself I think you would be mad to give up everything youve got over in Canada and come home to Ireland.

Personally i think its all about the finer details. Whats the point of just earning money abroad if you are miserable and missing your friends and family?

There are other options than coming home and being on the dole. If your friend has no qualifications and this is impeding him from getting work, than now is the perfect opportunity to go back to college or upskill. There are good grant options available to help people in these situations.
