I had €155 on Brazil to win, money back if Spain win (with Mullholland).
so am going to hedge my bet a bit-
Holland, draw no bet- 13/8- €40
holland win on penos 10/1- €5
Holland win extra time 14/1.- €4

    I'm hoping/expecting Spain to win....

Thought I'd post this here as well as the 3rd place thread as it's little quieter over there at least regarding posts...

    PP Specials are out -
    • Klose to score Anytime and Germany to win @ 2/1
    • Klose and Villa both to score @ 7/2
    • Villa or Van Persie to be First Goalscorer @ 9/4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭Kod-box

Be warned, Klose is a major doubt with a back inury

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Is it just me or does 5/2 for Capdevilla to be booked seem very generous in comparison to the odds of others??

  • Moderators Posts: 8,887 ✭✭✭x PyRo

Robin Van Persie to be booked @ 11/2 (SkyBet)

Looks way overpriced to me, RVP's a bit of a headcase at the best of times and makes some typical strikers challenges. I reckon he should be half that price, All the passing Spain do near enough the half way line will frustrate him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him lashing out at someone. Good price anyways.

any news on teams - i would have thought both teams would give a few of the squad players a run in this game

    damn!
shouldve looked up the news before i backed him.

i must say i also like the look of the 0-0ht 1-0 spain ft at 9s

ill have a piece of that and maybe do the same with 2-0 ft
which looks huge at 22s to me and surely if they score
early in the second half they will have chances to score
    more as holland push forward

I would say if Klose is anyway near fit he will play though lads, his last world cup and a chance to go down in football history as the (joint) top goalscorer of the tournament, but reports are he has been missing training, could even see them subbing him on if they get a peno lol

I was looking for the odds on this bet. He is arguably Spain's weak-link and is up against Holland's most dangerous player in Robben. I wonder will he have the pace and finesse to keep up with Robben who is very good at drawing fouls.

Capdevila is 11-4 with Hills to get booked and as has been stated is a good price considering he will be up against the serial diver Robben. Spain have had only 3 bookings so far in the WC but Robben will run straight at him. When he does he will dive like crazy on any touch by Capdevila.

Not sure if a straight red counts as a booking, doubt it. Was thinking the same thing myself last week.

    My bets:

    Holland (+1) €2.20 @ 13/8
    Van Bommell booking €5 @ 5/6
    Spain over 1.5 offsides €5 @ 10/11

I have had a tenner on Holland @ 11/1 since before the tournamanet started

Also did a double on last nights and tonights game

    Half time/ full time
    Draw/Germany
    +
    Holland/Spain

    €5 wins €650

Need a Spain win to complete my Germany/Spain double.

Pique to score any time @13.5

De Jong to be booked @2.66

Few quid on the Dutch @4.0 to cover everything.

Betfair's "to be shown a card" is more clear.

    Odds are better too

Is there anywhere that one can get a yellow/red card table from the WC?

Something which shows what players have been booked and how often?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,738 ✭✭✭Fowler87

ESPN soccernet is fairly handy on WC stats

    J Capdevilla @ 5/2
    To Be Booked
    Holland v Spain
    €20.00

Have 15 euro on Germany and Spain double + 20
euro on Shamrock Rovers and Spain as well.

Will put something on the Dutch, probably Robben or Sneijder AT.

Gone with 1-0 Spain @ 9/2 (I never usually do correct scores, but they seem to like this one)
Villa is 7/2 to score 1st, but I'd rather take 4/1 that he scores 1st and Spain go on to win the game. I know I run the risk of looking right silly if Holland turn around a deficit a la Brazil game but such is gambling

    Go Football!
