    PP

    Holland 11/4
    Draw 11/5
    Spain 11/10

To say I'm going all out for Spain in every bet I make is an understatement :P

DrawHT/SpainFT @ whatever the odds are

0-0HT/0-1FT @ whatever the odds are

I've got Dutch outright so I'll do medium bets on these two and enjoy the game :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 211 ✭✭Stryderman

I won €200 on the horses today so im lumping on:

Both teams to score @ 11/10

and a smaller bet on both teams to score in the 1st half @ 9/2

I can see a few goals being scored!!:D

  • Moderators Posts: 8,751 ✭✭✭x PyRo

Sticking all I can get my hands on on the Dutch. Crazy price IMO.

Crazy price alright, I think Spain will win so I'd have Spain as slight favs but way too short atm. I probably won't go in again on Holland though, just leave it with the antepost bet.

Spain for me, not sure what stake yet, but like Headshot, I think I'll lump it on van Bommel being booked as well. Could be up on the hundreds that bet.

Capdevilla booking could be a popular choice.

Half-time 0-0/Full-time Spain 1-0 is 8/1 at Boylesports. Might be worth a couple of euro considering all of Spain's games in the knockouts have ended like that.

9/1 on PP. Could be a runner alright.

Can't see many goals in this game, 1-1 will be the height of it I think probably be 5-4 thriller now! :D )

I think I'll lump it on Capdevila actually, now that I think of it, and van Bommel too, up against Robben and Xavi & Alonso iirc.

Spain to win and there to be 1 or 2 goals is 3.75 on PP. might have some of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Im gonna be all over Spain for this - they are 6-5 with Ladbrokes. They have won their last 3 games 1-0 and this could be the same. They have all the ball but dont score much.. Villa 1-0, Spain 1-0 and a LUMP on Spain @ 6-5. If they choke now I will never back Spain again - time to get back some of the Brazil losses.

Ya I like this too - good spot 11-4 for those others

    I only took the HT/FT 0-0/0-1 @ 9/1

Not gonna bother with the Draw/Spain one

    Enjoy the match :)

Anyone have a price for the Van Bommell yellow card?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭Kod-box

Paul the Octopus is gonna predict a team to win this, first time he's done it for a match not involving Germany :pac:

Can anybody give me a reason why 3-0 to Holland is priced as high as 55-1 on PP? Is the Spanish defence that great? That's definitely worth putting a fiver on from where I'm looking.

Holland have clawed their way to the Final, winning most of their matches by one goal. Spain have only conceded 2 goals all tournament.

He's around 6/5 or 2.22 on Betfair to be shown a card at the moment. May put down my biggest bet ever on this happening.

EDIT: Slapped a 100 on it earlier.

Hmm, I suppose I was concentrating more on Spain's low scorelines on the path to the final. It seemed to me as though Spain got an easier path to the final than Holland, and didn't come out of their group looking like world champions. They should have won all those matches comfortably, given the players they have. Apart from the scrappy play against Brazil, I thought that Holland looked more like contenders to win the competition.

I'm wondering though, would Holland not be more hungry to win going into it, seeing as they havn't won a major championship in a long time? I have a feeling that if it was nil-all by about the 70th minute, the dutch would be more likely to knuckle down and clinch it.

Howard Webb has been confirmed as the referee.

Spain's possession football is like a second defense. They hold onto the ball so well in the middle that the weaknesses in their back-line aren't tested on a regular basis. Not saying they won't concede but i think 55-1 is about right for a team that passes as well as Spain to concede 3 without scoring.

I'm doing Holland +1, 10/11 Great odds for a WC Final.

Also can't get a price on Van Bommell on PP yet, with Webb as referee it must be a cert!!!

Spain are worthy favs here IMO but slightly suprised to see them so short to life the cup. I'd have thought 8/11 Spain (possibly even 4/5).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,979 ✭✭✭Vurnon San Benito

Paddy's are copping onto van Bommel lads.
Offering prices on him to be first player booked, and number of fouls. Not good.

I had €155 on Brazil to win, money back if Spain win (with Mullholland).
so am going to hedge my bet a bit-
Holland, draw no bet- 13/8- €40
holland win on penos 10/1- €5
Holland win extra time 14/1.- €4

    I'm hoping/expecting Spain to win....

Thought I'd post this here as well as the 3rd place thread as it's little quieter over there at least regarding posts...

    PP Specials are out -
    • Klose to score Anytime and Germany to win @ 2/1
    • Klose and Villa both to score @ 7/2
    • Villa or Van Persie to be First Goalscorer @ 9/4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭Kod-box

Be warned, Klose is a major doubt with a back inury

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,605 ✭✭✭Fizman

Is it just me or does 5/2 for Capdevilla to be booked seem very generous in comparison to the odds of others??

  • Moderators Posts: 8,751 ✭✭✭x PyRo

Robin Van Persie to be booked @ 11/2 (SkyBet)

Looks way overpriced to me, RVP's a bit of a headcase at the best of times and makes some typical strikers challenges. I reckon he should be half that price, All the passing Spain do near enough the half way line will frustrate him and I wouldn't be surprised to see him lashing out at someone. Good price anyways.

any news on teams - i would have thought both teams would give a few of the squad players a run in this game

    damn!
shouldve looked up the news before i backed him.

i must say i also like the look of the 0-0ht 1-0 spain ft at 9s

ill have a piece of that and maybe do the same with 2-0 ft
which looks huge at 22s to me and surely if they score
early in the second half they will have chances to score
    more as holland push forward

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,853 ✭✭✭Kod-box

I would say if Klose is anyway near fit he will play though lads, his last world cup and a chance to go down in football history as the (joint) top goalscorer of the tournament, but reports are he has been missing training, could even see them subbing him on if they get a peno lol

I was looking for the odds on this bet. He is arguably Spain's weak-link and is up against Holland's most dangerous player in Robben. I wonder will he have the pace and finesse to keep up with Robben who is very good at drawing fouls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Capdevila is 11-4 with Hills to get booked and as has been stated is a good price considering he will be up against the serial diver Robben. Spain have had only 3 bookings so far in the WC but Robben will run straight at him. When he does he will dive like crazy on any touch by Capdevila.

Not sure if a straight red counts as a booking, doubt it. Was thinking the same thing myself last week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 576 ✭✭✭Fishyfreak

    My bets:

    Holland (+1) €2.20 @ 13/8
    Van Bommell booking €5 @ 5/6
    Spain over 1.5 offsides €5 @ 10/11

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,630 ✭✭✭The Recliner

I have had a tenner on Holland @ 11/1 since before the tournamanet started

Also did a double on last nights and tonights game

    Half time/ full time
    Draw/Germany
    +
    Holland/Spain

    €5 wins €650

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,079 ✭✭✭colly54

    I stuck €4 on David Villa 1st goal Spain 2-0 25/1 :)
