Just watched the Sunday game highlights there, Tomás will be very lucky to escape a ban.

Another thing about yesterday was that the jersey situation was just plain stupid, it didn't help either team, the ref or the fans, even if they just turned one set of jerseys inside out it would been a huge help!!

Ah well, what can ya say.
I refrained from posting yesterday just incase I'd end up ranting or something :o
Ah, it was a great match. Gutted but a great match nonetheless.
Credit to both teams. Kerry pulled away at the end when it mattered most.
But what a come back by limerick mid way through the second half. I thought (and I'm sure I wasn't the only one) that when Kerry scored 1-7 without reply that it was over and that the strong breeze was going to go against us (limerick) in the 2nd half.
But a great goal by Galvin really gave Limerick the kick they needed.

I wouldn't go blaming the ref fully as he did try his best. Limerick lost it themselves at the end kicking some poor wides and Kerry just converted the scores when it counted most.

Not sure how this defeat will affect the Limerick team now in the qualifiers.
A quarter final appearance would be absolutely brilliant for the county.
Mickey Ned, well as much as I love the guy, as panda said above Conor Fitz should have been put on. After scoring 3 points against Waterford, it was inevitable that he should have made an appearance. We'll see where we go from here on in with Mickey Ned this season sure and make the final judgement at its end.

Regards the Tomás O Sé incident(s), I actually didn't see any of them at the game :o But I did watch The Sunday Game last night and he really should have gotten a red card for that elbow. There must have been something going on between him and Kelly because he is a great respectable footballer that would never really stir this kinda sh!t.

The wait continues but hopefully we'll see the likes of Galvin, Kelly, Buckley and co. get a munster medal soon :)
Oh and btw, the atmosphere was absolutely epic. Seriously, just epic! :P (thought I'd get that in!)

Longer post than I firstly intended but sure, how bad.

In Fairness the referee Pat Fox did not see most of the Tomás O Sé incidents and there was quite a lot. The Lineman saw most of them. The TV did not get most of them. It was continuously happening throughout the first half and most of the second half until kelly was taken off. But fair play to kelly he kept his nerve and kept doing was he did best which was played football which caused Tomás O Sé loads of problems by running his heart out with the ball.

And fair play to Lucey who kept Donaghy very occupied who also seem to relish the physical challenge. Also to Ger Collins who continued to be able to run with ease from Tom O'Sullivan to easily score.

For a kerry perfective, I taught they looked tired in the First half. It like they had little life in them. The opening of the second half was like if the fire was set on their arses but when Quirke came on in the second half, he seem to be the best player for Kerry who regaining some control of midfield adding that additional channel for Kerry. I expect to see more of him there in future. Kerry seem to go for easy punched points when Goals were an option on a few occasions. At the end of the game, I never have seen 9 Kerry players in the goals for the free kick!! It was Kerry Berlin Wall.

John Galvin is by far the best player on the Pitch and this picture tell all of how dangerous he was to Kerry. It took 5 Kerry players trying to tackle him to prevent him from scoring a goal.

Over all it was the best Munster Final I have seen in ten years. The game did not have many dull moments.

A day after and it's still no easier to take defeat yesterday. I'd have taken a win yesterday and a quarter final defeat over a semi final appearance any day.

Looking back on the game I feel even if Scan kicked one of those 45's we still wouldn't have got our hands on the cup yesterday. Kerry are ruthless when they need to be and I felt before the game that Declan O'Sullivan would be crucial for Kerry and I was right. The man is just pure class. One of the footballers I admire the most. Physically strong in the tackle and he can kick points with both feet from anywhere.

There are a lot of question marks over some of the Kerry team but I don't think there is any team out there to beat them even after losing a truckload of players from last year. I just can't put my finger on what makes Kerry so good at winning games. I think Limerick won't be as emotionally drained as they were last year before the Meath game and I'd love a crack off the Dubs or Cork in the qualifiers. They are surely due to beat a big team eventually:confused:

I would love to take the credit, but it is the Irish Times photo. I wish, I had a camera yesterday. To See in the First half in which Galvin jump and pick the ball in the air which kick out surrounded by the great Kerry players and still manage to break free to me would be a great set of Photo's.

My dad's been saying for years he's like Declan Browne for Tipp, he could start on most county teams in Ireland. Tremendous athlete imo

Ah Jeez no don't want Cork. Sick of playing them, and psychologically I dont think we'l overcome them. We need a new challenge. A match against the Dubs would be great.

I'd like to see Limerick play the dubs actually would be a good game. The only thing is I'd be wary of Dublin after taking such a hammering, they'll either come back strong or wilt again but even a Dublin team on form is beatable for Limerick.

A match against Galway would be a good indication, big team with a lot to prove after losing to Sligo, a good bit of quality but probably not at their best. Big win if we did beat them, good test to see where we're at if we didn't.

why is the munster final played so early every year? the winner is always at a slight disadvantage that they have a long wait to play in the 1/4, longer than anybody else. im sure the argument can also be made that it gives them extra time to prepare, but it does not work like that for some teams, they like to have momentum and playing games brings teams on more than others. surely they can mix it up every year and have for example lenister last and munster first.... very strange.

sure a few kerry greats were from limerick, tiz a wonder ye didnt nab him too :pac:

seriously though galvin is without doubt the best midfielder in munster and is well up there for the best in the land full stop.

a travesty if he never gets his munster medal

is he not related to the galvins in finuge? i think his mam is a kerry woman, i could be wrong on that one though. there was talk of him i think, transferring clubs a few years back and playing for emmets, though again, i could be wrong.

no relation to paul before people start linking them!

Im thought him and Paul are cousins, are they not?
Yep his mum is from Kerry, but we're not gonna let go off John without a fight here in Limerick :)

Ha why not, Tipp were in Divison 2 and ye were in Division 4 last year. Ye both lost to Kerry, no shame being compared to Tipp.

We're much better than Division 4 though and better than Tipp every day of the week. Not to mention the fact that Kerry beat Tipp by a cricket score, in Thurles.

my heart goes out to the limerick lads and they played very well but me being from kerry i must say that kerry have a certain skill in performing in comparison to other teams. Limerick nearly had it in the bag but kerry just was too good for them. Kerry are very experienced players and its very difficult for new teams to match that. hope limerick play well in the qualifiers, all the best to them. Although thats all said and done I do not condone what tomas o se did in the match, i wouldn't be surprised if he gets a sanction of some sort, he should have gotten a red card at some point in the game but it didn't happen. Shame really as the sunday game highlighted that faux pas again but there were other incidents that should have taken into account aswell by both sides aswell but think both teams played more fairly than usual but was still dramatic all the same!

    That'll learn him.

    Thats a bit harsh.

Yea, I was surprised with him :/
But it was a red card incident. And deserved. You'd have to give him a suspension tbf.
It should be up on the rte player. The Sunday game showed all of the incidents if you have time to look there :)

How can you say it was harsh if you havnt seen it?!

Exellent player but doesnt matter what his record is like, do the crime pay the time!

Please read the post I quoted.
I was not refering to the ban but saying the comment made was harsh judging by the character of the player.
