Tesco mobile just released an excellent iPhone tariff in the UK.

    If only Ireland had similar!
You never know. I spotted that yesterday - 12 month contract on the iPhone in the UK. Tesco do mobile services here, so you may see them swoop in here, but I doubt they'll undercut O2 by any significant amount.

Imagine got in trouble years ago when Eircell discovered that they were being undercut on their own network.

The 4 seems to be on sale in China for the last month at ezonebest.com

Has anybody bought anything from www.ezonebest.com ?

I checked it out and on this website http://electronicsscams.co.cc/2010/06/page/3/ they claim that ezonebest is a scam....

Here is what they have to say about them

"This is in my opinion an example of a common Chinese scam selling all kinds of brand items at unrealistic prices. There are thousands of such websites out there with no other purpose than fraud. Please be careful and remember: if something looks too good to be true it’s usually just another scam"

What I'm asking is - where did you get the impression O2 were going to do pre-orders?
We all remember the "pre-order" disaster last year.

You can't upgrade online and supposedly upgrade customers are going to be looked after.

3GS was only an incremental evolution. You could pre-order for 1st Gen and 3G phones. I walked in and got my 3G from O2 Dundrum on Launch. Literally had my name on it.

They didn't do pre-orders for 3GS wilth full gusto because they knew 3G customers wouldn't upgrade with 6 months left on their contract.

Going by the O2 UK price plans (Engadget do a lovely comparison blog post) educated guess would be 249euro and 349euro handset price on 40euro plan.

Definitely fake look at all the mcAfee images they have nicked from other websites, one of them even says verified on the 23 august. The whole thing looks dodgy. I would avoid this website like the plague

I have a life rule for myself that I never eat in restaurants that have pictures of their food on the menus, likewise when it comes to web shopping when I see the word 'China' anywhere on the page I immediately avoid unless I'm looking for some bowls and plates.

They've done a good job on the website, it looks the part but the prices are just ridiculous....e.g Canon 5d Mark II Camera, sells for over €2k and they're selling it for US$1100!

I don't think any of that means anything. There was a huge shortage of 3GS's so there was no shortage of demand.

Don't get me wrong, I hope there is pre-ordering, I just wanted to know if you were just speculating or actually knew something. (The former, it seems :)).

Where do you expect to get one sim free up north for €200? They're more expensive than that on a contract!

It just goes to show that a fool and his money are soon parted. It also shows that the global recession hasn't been nearly as devastating as the media like to pretend.

Should have thought of that though, you're effectively investing €700 in a phone and getting a 100% return within 24 hours. That's worth a trip to Belfast I think.

He's talking about the difference between contract and simfree - i.e. he could buy simfree now or wait until it's released here and get it £200 cheaper on contract.

my earlier post explained the fact that in my current situation on a 40euro bill the total cost of the phone would work out 200euro more expensive if I went up north to buy one sim free: plus train/petrol cost!

It's true dude. 90% OF 16GB ones on eBay are going for €900 and up. Would have been a super little earner! Once the craze is over they'll drop. For pig-iron is mailed one guy about a White one (as Apple don't even have them) and he said he doesn't have them yet and that he'd mail when they arrive. Also said they'd be cheaper.
