    I love the third trailer...

"I came here to drink milk and kick ass... and I've just finished my milk..."

    Classic...

It's a reworking of Roddy Piper's famous line from "They Live", not original.

Channel 4 are going to be making the first episode available to view online a week before the new series starts. Should mean that it shows up today at some point.

No word on whether it'll be available in Ireland or not, although when they did this before the first series I remember being able to watch it here, so fingers crossed!
The first episode of the IT Crowd series 4 will become available to watch online a whole week before it goes on TV!

You'll be able to watch the episode 'Jen the Fredo' from Friday June 18.

I've used 4OD before and it has never been this slow or timed out. Maybe it has to do with a lot of users on trying to watch it.

Couldnt agree more, i finished watching it thinking that IT Crowd like Father Ted is getting better as it goes.

Douglas is turning out to be one of the best characters on tv at the moment, he was genius as usual in this episode.

Thanks, I always wondered where that came from.

Going to watch the first episode now. I've missed this show.

Great opening episode. Chris O'Dowd just gets better and better.
Loved the ending too, there is always a quality payoff at the end of each episode. I dont know how they will ever better the ending with the wheelchair at the beginning of season 2.

    4 outta 5 for me.

This was really a great start to the new series.
She's been photoshopped out of every picture. It's like breaking up with Stalin.

    Great episode.
The back and forth between Roy and Jen at the D+D bit was brilliant.

You do not need a UK proxy for 4OD anymore

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭heebusjeebus

Don't think you ever needed a proxy for watching 4od from Ireland.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 35,514 ✭✭✭✭efb

You did for a while, 4OD blocked ROI access and then allowed it again, my friend is taking all the credit, she sent C4 an angry email...

Season Four has already begun. Channel 4's online service 4oD gave UK viewers the chance to watch the first episode of the first series online last night. Not sure if 4oD works in Ireland - I only know BBC IPlayer doesn't. But if you can, check it now, and see if it works.

In any case, I won't spoil it for you, or leave any spoilers

But what I will say is that it is a great return to form from an excellent cast and that it is perhaps the funniest episode I have seen, personally, since the opening episode of Season 2.

Glad to see an amazing show back, on top form, and look forward to the rest of the series.

Why did I always think it was filmed in front of a live audience ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,328 ✭✭✭Speedsie
    ¡arriba, arriba! ¡andale, andale!

It is filmed in front of a live audience, at the bottom of the page it states:-
This image was captured the day before the live recording of The IT Crowd series 4, and before the audience seating was put in place.

The other temporary sets you can see in the background are (from left to right):

    1. Secret
    2. George Lucas-style special effect
    3. Douglas' bedroom

Thought the season opener was a bit of a weak one.. Matt Berry was superb as usual, and there was a couple of good one-liners but something just was a bit "off" about it.

Might just be a temporary blip hopefully!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Agree, it lacked a few zingers and the pacing was slightly awry, also everyone knows you can't open those high windows in modern office blocks. (we'll overlook the exit of Chris Morris in series one cos that was brilliantly handled as a gag.)

Yeah it was pretty meh overall apart from the scenes with Matt Berry which saved it bigtime.

Just like you never go full retard, going full nerd can be just as unfunny :)

Thought it was a solid enough opening episode myself. Not the best episode ever, but certainly not bad. Some very good one liners tonight; Douglas was brilliant as always. :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 250 ✭✭Delicate_Dlite

Liked it, but I agree it was missing the usual 'zingers' that you walk away repeating to everyone who knows you, even though you know it's never funny when out of context. .....but maybe I just do that...

I like Roy being upset, but I thought there was scope for more.
Granted I think we'll agree, some of his lines were funny due to being eerily familiar.....but then again maybe thats just me....:o

B@stard never did say goodbye....I need Moss.

    Agreed

But I am hoping that Moss on countdown will save it next week :)

I'm sure Moss was recycling some dialogue from a previous series - "women can't live with them..." moment.
