    Well, it's everywhere right now.

There's almost of much of it as the flancer ball.

So I thought I'd start one of my "alternative" threads.

We all know people are going to go mental about football and we're all supposed to care, but loads of us don't, lets be honest.

What are those of you out there who'd rather rip their own (possibly someone elses, I am not picky) noses off rather than watch football going to do to pass the time?

I think I am going to dig into Scott Pilgrim myself, and also try to catch up with some Transformers comics.

I will have at leat one day where I will be forced to watch a match in a pub (my old flancer ball defence has revolted on me). I've watched the bluffball episode of the IT crowd but any other help for me would be appreciated.

Also, how do you feel about the media turning football mental for a few weeks?

I know, the consume all in their path.

Poor DooM only wants to watch Mythbusters, instead he has to watch men kicking balls, and when he goes out people are all shouting about the land of ire. It's all very distracting.

The World Cup is absolutely awesome even if you're not a football fan, so just sit back, have a few drinks and enjoy it.

I am known to be a fair man, who is balanced and will listen to all opinions.

But here, in this thread, you are wrong.

You are the wrongest man that made a mistake.

You are the son of Mr and Ms Error, of Inaccuracy Street.

In fact you aren't, as when they picked up their child after being born, they made a little misjudgement and took the wrong child with them.

This thread is not for the promotion of roundballism, it is for those who need an alternative, such as I, who would rather listen to the complete Lady Gaga on repeat than watch another 90 minutes of football only to be told how great it is and how I'm the weird one for not liking it.

    As is that! >.<

I have to admit I get pretty excited when Ireland are in the WC ... and it would have been a nice excuse to head to SA, somewhere that has been on my list for years.

Probably won't follow it too closely now tho ...

DooM, you're looking for something to do?

/eyes tottering piles of work on the desk ...

    Want some?! :p:D

*Wonders if it is possible to ban people from a thread*:D

I know I've had discussions with friends about how awesome it would be if you could ban people from RL and put them on ignore lists etc... A girl can dream!

I'm not entirely sure when the World Cup is but my plan for the next month or so is: finish current job, start new job, find new place to live, move house... So that should keep me busy!! :D

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,868 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM

A friend wants me to go out to watch the first match with him.

Apparently it is currently acceptable to be horribly racist about France?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

As well as knacks saying "I'll even bleeding support the English cos I bleeding hate those French frogs."

Oi! You're giving those of us who are supporting England for genuine reasons a bad name!

    ^ Meh, I don't care, I'm supporting Spain. :D

Spain or Argentina for me. :o Although the latter is doubtful.

I wouldn't mind seeing England do well too.
