Why no talk of Resurgence Package?

Isn't this out tomorrow and will include five new multiplayer maps: reincarnations of the Strike and Vacant maps from Call of Duty 4, and three new maps: Carnival, a desolated amusement park; Trailer Park, a mobile home park; and Fuel, an oil refinery.

I'm looking forwards to Carnival!

I really hope the maps are good, the Stimulus ones were a bit meh, except for Storm which is great, Salvage is the most boring map in the game.

Totally disagree. I really enjoy Salvage. Throw on some silencers and you can move around that map reaking havoc. Or you can run with an Extended mags AA12 among the pipes and destroy people. Lots of options of gameplay.

We all need a break now and then, come Thursday and the new map pack, you will be mad for a few games and back in the groove.

I don't think so. Wasn't it afternoon last time? I seem to remember people being on here complaining about how ti was crashing when it launched at lunch time? IMHO, it'll be launched in the US first at something like 10am their time, which makes it mid-afternoon here.

Bought my xbox points last night in preperation for todays DLC...Turned on the xbox today and got the red ring of death...What a kick in the bollix...Anyways looked up a vid on how to fix it...I wrapped 4 towels around it for ten minutes, switched it off and on and it was back to normal...For how long I dunno.

Not long dude. I'd suggesting trading the unit in for a jasper model elite, asap.

I always thought that the "towel procedure" was used to induce another, different failure that is covered by warranty longer than the rings of death?

Definitely. The issue doesn't exist on the later models, better designed and they are also quieter to run. I know loads of people who have traded up, after getting either their old xbox repaired or if the RROD just happened the once or twice.

You've said its booting ok now, but trust me, it will happen again. Trade it up while it's still booting ok, IMO. Is your current unit within warranty?

RROD is caused by solder cracking. The towel helps to quickly overheat the board so the solder solidifies. Then, when you remove the towels and turn your machine off, the solder goes back to a solid state minus the cracks.

This is a temporary solution because the solder is now weaker and will go again.
It will however give you enough time to bring the machine back to a store and trade it in. The machine will operate correctly for the duration of the test that the store will do on it.

well Modern warfare 2 just updated and the maps have there place now in the game, Just have to wait for them to hit on xbox live so i/we can download them.

Last time alot of us were waiting ages for the damn maps to work(downloading took ages)

Plus the update for the game was ready when the maps were downloaded.

At least now the update has already been pushed out.

Shouldn't be too long now.

Most game shops trade in consoles, just have a look online or call a few of them. I'm not sure if you can send it to MS as it's currently working, so I would just goto any game store and trade it up. They give you something like 80€ if you have the original packaging.

I'm not sure whats going on but the update that i got has not done anything like that.

Tactical insertion is still there.
Free for all matches are still up to 8
Only new game modes are resurgence and hardcore resurgence(replaced stimulus)
