Annoying First Dates! Any Stories?

Went on a first date recently, nice girl n all, and we were having a drink and chatting away, but I mean you can't talk endlessly either without some pause...

After a silence of literally no more than 5 or 6 seconds, she starts going "That was a really long silence!"

I honestly felt like responding with "Yeah I know, don't spoil it will you!"

Anyone got anything more racy than that!

Wow, riveting. Did you drop the hand in the end?

Whats a date? Does shifting someone in the local nite club count as a date?

An awkward silence depends only on the sentence you say after it. You could have said, 'wow its great that we can just relax and not have to worry bout having things to say'.

Once went out with a young gentleman (and I use this term loosely) who bought me fried chicken and told me of his conquests.

What about the sentence before though?

"This is my first date since the operation."

Once went on a date where the girl demanded i sit closer to her. So i did.

Later on she asked why i was sitting so close. when i mentioned that she had asked me to, she denied it and started crying, saying her ex-boyfriend used to always "accuse" her of forgetting things in the short term.

She was hot though so i stuck around ;)

Mention of ex bf on first date? Taking advantage of someone on the rebound/with insecurities? I like your style

    Absolutely!

Got to the end of the night. She said "Wanna come back to mine for coffee" to which i replied

    "I don't drink coffee"

    D'oh!

That's a lady's way of politely saying, "Do you EVER shut the f*ck up?".

Where were you when he bought you fried chicken K.F.C?

I saw the film 'Good Luck Chuck' on a first date.

Technically the date went well, but that was the most godawful piece of crap I've ever seen so I'm gonna count it as an annoying first date.

It wasn't the Colonal in his younger days was it?

Anyone ever left on the sly during a date? I've been very close sometimes but never have!

Met a religious nut once, never stopped banging on about her love for Jesus and wanting to become a nun, surprisingly I got the ride and then had to drop her down to confession. I didn't stick around for the penance.

Didn't she set up a promotions company afterwards?

Once had dinner with a bloke who took every opportunity to stare at himself in any reflective surface. Including a spoon. He was also incapable of talking about anything but himself.

Legged it after the dessert and got drunk with the girls instead.

Went to see The Passion of the Christ once on a date. Bad decision, we were both so quiet and down after it we just went home. No sexy time.

Met a bloke who totally was nothing like the picture or the description. He was a foot shorter than me, and at least 15 years older than he had described!!
Last week met someone for lunch who in his mails and texts sounded real chatty, but in real life couldnt get a word out of him and he spent to whole time watching the football over my shoulder!!!

Makes me want to give up looking :(

went on a date with a girl who checked herself every few seconds in any mirror in a club that was just full of mirrors. so i saved my own number to my phone under a different name, then sent myself a text saying to get home because there was a break in. worked so well.

think i should take some inspiration from cartman and just stare blindly the next time i go out and at every awkward silence, just say 'wow, that is so inciteful, please, tell me more.' just hope the girl isn't as rank as the nut-gobbler!

Going to a late viewing of "Harry Brown". Good film, but jeez the gun shots were incredibly loud, kept on jumping off my seat, and it wasn't the most ideal film to go see on a first date - due to the shocking "lovemaking" done by the drug dealer. Anybody who has seen it will know. Ended out coming out of the cinema, even more wary of him, missed the last bus. Was stuck waiting over an hour for a taxi from Liffey Valley, with him complaining about the cold, and kissing me endlessly with really bad breadth and tongue movements. :(
