Come on guys, long before Gerry was known to us, he was known to his family. They deserve to know his loss long before us gawkers.

My condolences to his family, freinds, and all his colleagues at 2fm.

    RIP

Also it'd be a good idea to disable your signature.

"Gardai are investigating the circumstances of his death.."

    That sounds odd.

Wasn't in Clontarf, was his Apartment in Leeson St.

They are having an extended live at five on Radio 1. They all sound genuinely upset and shocked.

Was just listening, he's mostly playing continuous music and understandably why.

It must be so tough for Larry (and his other colleagues) to have to carry on working when tragic news about a personal friend has broken. They should let him go home and play music on a loop for a few hours.

    Very sad.
They said on the news he was only found at 1.
I can't see a message about in on Miriam O'Callaghan's twitter page...
    R.I.P.

For all we know they may have well known it. It could even have been them who called the ambulance.

I don't know if it helps anyone hoping the family didn't find out from boards, but I work with a friend of a niece of his and she got a text from her about it at lunchtime, well before this thread.

    RIP Gerry.

Poor kiddies, having some of this ****e forever tatooed here to read.

We dont give a sh1t what you thought of the man. Nothing good to say? Step away from your keyboard!

    G Ryan RIP

Facts are the OP posted the news at 14.30, another user at 14.44 (14 minutes later) stated that the Miriam O Callaghan twittered about it.

Therefore the news was out there even before the op posted so he/she has no case to answer.

Also as he was found this morning, it would seem it tokk the paramedic at least 5 hours to text the news after he arrived at the scene, again no real issue.

The guards had at least 5 hours to notify family before op posted, again no real issue.

    btw rip Gerry

Like him or not He had an opinion on things and made you think about yours.. Life would be very dull without people like him - I wasnt a hugh fan and I didnt always agree with him but you still have to admire the man!

Its also a bit odd how people go on the internet to check things like this and then post about the immorality of having that post there in the first place... Im confused.. Why did you come on here again??

RIP Gerry - My thoughs and prayers are with his family..

Let's stop talking about the ambulance driver involved and the OP.

Should the HSE or whoever wish to contact Boards.ie as part of an internal investigation, we'll be happy to help them out. For now, lambasting the OP isn't doing anything except derailing this thread.

Again, I ask that people keep all their comments on this thread respectful and civil. It's no secret that he didn't like Boards and we didn't like him, but we are talking about a man who has a family and friends and who touched a lot of people's lives and to pass at such a young age is sad news indeed.

    Dav

Dav, this is way off topic but can you explain the BOLD bit.

How would you help the HSE out? the only thing I can think of is that you would divulge contact details, of the poster. This worries me

If your offended by the comment, why bring it up again

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: all you want.

I asked a simple question in order for me to better understand the meaning of the poster and his post, reserving my judgement until I clearly understand the post, and intentions of the post.

    Less of your assumptions...
