    Hey guys,

Some of you may or may not know us, were a gym in dublin 2, we're looking for some help to design a playlist for our members to work out to!

So what are the motivational songs that you like playing when your doing your workout??

Figured our existing one was a bit too small and repetitive! Thanks in advance!:)

    Rage against the Machine.
    Hot Chip.
    Klaxons.
    The Hold Steady.

I don't want to listen to any of the crap that's been listed so far except maybe RATM every now and then. I think it's gonna be hard to please all the people.

    For me: Prodigy.

The key is to strike a balance. It’s all well and good listing metal bands but what about the people who despise that crap? The same goes for some of that dance music that has no place other than some pilled up teenagers bedroom.

I recommend trying to find the middle ground. Some mainstream dance tracks mixed with some mainstream rock/metal. It’s a start anyway.

Just lay off the 80’s techno. :D

    Faithless
    Pantera
    Metallica
    Alice in chains

AC/DC-Thunderstruck, awesome workout song. If you time it right you can shout "You've Been Thunderstruck" at the bar after your 2xBW deadlift. Yeah!!

    Pretty much any AC/DC really.

Or if it takes more out of you than you thought, you can time the Stone Roses to sing "I Am The Resurrection" as you pick yourself up off the floor :D

You should try find some Liquidy, uplifting Drum & Bass. Ear friendly music to everyone, with great tempo. Ideal for working out.

    Check out the following:

    Memro - Altitude
    Muffler - Hear Me Scream
Seba - Blaze & Fade Out
    Mage - Summer Love
    Kaleb - Dreaming
Lazee ft. Neverstone - Hold On (Matrix & futurboard)
    Centigrade - Make Me Feel
High Contrast - Days Go By
Memro - Trick of the Trail
    Netsky - Escape
    Netsky - Jealousy
Breakage ft. Roots Manuva - Run Em Out
    London Elektricity - Hanging Rock
    Logistics - Transporter
Dirrrty B - Cold Like Ice
High Contrast - Seven Notes In Black

Thats my 2 hour playlist. Works a gem. Trust me ;):D

if you've got an internet connection in the gym, you could do worse than using some internet radio stations to provide the tunes. You may have to pay a very minimal subscription to avoid ads. An example would be digitally imported. They have several channels so if you don't like what's on one currently, you can switch to another. I'm sure you could find a website that covers more genres if you checked around

    Some good suggestions there.

System of a Down - First 2 albums, System of a Down and Toxicity
Rammstein - Anything - Especially Mutter and Herzeleid
    Rob Dougan
Rob Zombie - Dragula is a favourite of mine
    Beastie Boys
Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R, Songs for the Deaf

there are a load of good mash up albums out there, would be suited for high tempo stuff, spin classes etc. not sure that's what you're looking for but google for Best of Bootie and you'll find some. Girl Talk is another guy...PM me if you have trouble finding anything!

Rammstein - Everything bar the Rosenrot album tis quite poop, but they really are the top of the pile for gym music imo
Ice Cube - In the late night hour and why we thugs in particular do it for me
    Dead Prez - Hip Hop
Faith no more - various different tunes of theirs really hit the spot
    Big L - Platinum Plus
    Run DMC - Sucker MCs
2Pac - Rebel of the underground
    Digital Underground - Same song

A good ould lump of the ould variety will be key to try and keep everyone happy, but as long as it aint the tripe that is dance/trance or whatever ya call it these days, so over done in gyms imo and it really does my head in big style
