Has anyone tried Ubuntu 10.04 yet? How is it coming along?

My Intel compiler is broken since upgrading :(

Wants a libstdc++.5.so, but 10.04 only has libstdc++.6.so. Tried linking the two. Don't think there's a workaround until Intel make the next release...

I've often had problems with my libstdc++ being too new (ie version n+1 instead of n). I don't know anything about c++, but is each libstdc++ backwards-incompatible with the last or something?

Well, All I have heard is, that it will be useful for the netbook remix as it will give them more space....Which I like,

Although Ubuntu is missing something and I can't put my finger on it lol

went 32bit for 10.04. new user, problems so far, no mail client will send mail at all from any type of account. and the flash plugin for firefox crashes and needs reinstall after each shutdown and finally chromium crashes if you try to download anything.

i really like ubuntu but it's pushing it. going to try a 64 bit install

I upgraded from 8 to 10 and had lots of problems. I had to do a clean install and went with 9. My reason for upgrading from 8 was that I couldn't get the mobile broadband working for some reason. No problems now with 9. I am a little bit hesistant about upgrading to 10 for what seems like no huge benefit. I might wait a while for any creases to be ironed out. I love ubuntu 9.10, it has finally fully converted me from windows.

My only major gripe is the dynamic MOTD that phones home and also displays an advert for Canonical upon every SSH login. I've gotten rid of it by editing the scripts in /etc/update.motd/ but still annoying none the less.

    I don't see any advert:
