The very best would be something like Bleiker, at nearly €5k per rifle. About one to two percent lower in accuracy are all the current match rifles, more or less in one bunch (Anschutz 20XX and 19XX series, Feinwerkbau, Walther, and so on). CZs are nice rifles for the money, but they're a bit further down the line in terms of accuracy. On the other hand, current match rifles go for something like €2500-3000, for which you'd get four to six CZs, depending on the deal you get and the model.

Has anyone used the Anschutz MPR .22lr ?Can be picked up for around 1000-1200 euro ,new .Its worked off a 64 action not the 54 action ,hence the price .

Yes. I had one for about 5-6 months. Its a fine rifle and a decent way to get into an Anschutz for small enough money. Thing is though as you stated yourself..............

.............this is a draw back. While still an accurate rifle, it would compare to the CZ being only slightly better, but does not hold a candle to the Match 54s. As i said i had one, but when a match 54 presented itself i bought it and sold on the 64.

what is your ruger like. is it a standard one,
because there are some accurate versions out there, some modifications might improve what you have. there is plenty of stuff out there for the 10 22.
of course it depends on how accurate you want.
do you just want to have a better hunting rifle
or do you want to do some target shooting.

ya its a standard 1022 with a black syntecic stock
i just want something better for hunting a few rabits and a few targets down the field
i dont like semi`s cause the bolt makes a good bit of noise

Dead easy to beat the CZ for the money actually, it's just hard to find a Vickers second-hand over here. Now if you can source from the UK, you can get a rifle that'll hold ground well with any modern match rifle (and be better for a beginner than any match rifle made today) for an absolute pittance (as in, around €60 if you shop around).

The only drawback is that it's definitively aimed (pardon the pun) at target shooting, rather than bunny-whacking. But if you're looking for a rifle that will do both... well, you're probably never going to find a rifle that's good at either.

in that case you will have to look at a cz 452 style or silhouette .22lr or.22wmr or .17hmr. they would be sommelier in style to what you have and will shoot very well for handy money, i'm sure you will have no problem trading you'r 10 22 against one.

if you are ever down my way i'll give you a go of my cz style .22lr.
