I like all kinds of music, particularly of the live variety (literally listen to anything!), and all kinds of films, 'cept chick flicks, but I give anything a shot. I like animals. A lot. Particularly dogs and horses. And I play videogames a lot, too (and I don't mean Wii). Eh.. I'm adventurous enough, I'm up for most things simply for the experience. So if you wanna do something nuts, I'm your girl. :p
Location: Mullingar, and I can't travel out. :(

    are u a wow player?

Is there anybody here who is free on weekdays? (I work nights and often work fridays & saturdays so it messes my weekends up a bit)

    Hi Ash23,

you sound like you still have your hobbies, reading movies etc. Not a fan of the horror movies. You must be busy enough with a small one, good on you for staying here once she was settled in school.

All the boards night that seem to be organised are in Galway or Dublin - but I guess if I am going to moan about it I should set one up myself!

I was going to send a pm round last night but they only let me send it to 5 people and I didn't want to leave people out. With Easter next week I'm sure most people will have some extra time off work so it might be a good one to try for next week.

If you're rich and handsome you can be my friend. (I'm shallow):pac:

+1 for the alcoholic beverages as opposed to caffeine.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

I think when you go for cocktails that technically makes it a LL beers - which there's nothing wrong with, but I think for those who are looking for real friendships something more intimate where you can actually hear each other talking is a better idea.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 4,644 Mod ✭✭✭✭Daisies

Count me in for anything in Dublin. If cocktails I recommend Dandelion- €5 cocktails and usually fairly quiet. Coffee- dont really have any recommendations as I work in Dun Laoghaire during the day and so all the coffee shops are usually closed when I get back into town

    Oh the Zoo sounds great!!

Misticles well done, this is a great thread :)

I would be up for going for a coffee. Oh god I'll probably either sit there and say nothing or chatter on nervously
    But I'm cool....honest!

Misticles what a great idea for a thread :)This is probably the only forum it would work in.

I'm a lad so I won't get involved*, but may I suggest to the ladaahs bowling, pool or paintballing as potential activities. You could always head to the pub after or for a coffee before.

    Just a suggestion.

How about a quiet city centre bar where coffee or a drink is an option?

Everyone being upset at being 25 is making me feel veeery old! I turned 26 a week ago. :( Stop making me feel old. Sure you're only babies. I remember when I was your age.....:p

:D me too. In the middle of a sentence thinking "Just.Stop.Talking"

:D me too. In the middle of a sentence thinking "Just.Stop.Talking"

My favourite one was when I was at my boyfriends uncles family, I didn't know them too well at this stage and I got talking to the son whose dad had died.

The conversation went like this -
Him" How are you? Everything ok, thanks for taking the day off to come"
Me" Ah yea it's a great day isn't it? Sure I'd take a day of for anything!"
    Him "Ehhhh.."
Me: "Oh crap, I didn't mean it like that! I could just die! Oh F*ck I mean well you know, ha, I might aswell start digging my grave..sh*te"
    Him ""

I was shouting at myself in my head "STOP F*CKING TALKING!!!"

Haha so that's what you's have to expect :pac:

Yeah something during the day would be brilliant, for anyone living outside the city it can be tough to get home from a few drinks late at night, Citylink for an hour after a few drinks is tough!

Have we any idea on dates and things for this speed-friending event?! :)

For sure, it's a great idea. I think we are meeting early on that Friday for that very reason, we have other commitments etc! Just need to get everyone together and the plan will be that hopefully it will be easier to arrange something again, as we will know each others interests etc

I'm on for a westie meet up too but honestly, Galway is a bit too far for me. I used to go to college there so if I'm making the effort to get down there, organise a sitter and a place to stay, it's my mates I'll be meeting.

I'm in south Mayo, so if anyone is more local than Galway I'm on for a meetup for a coffee sometime. :)
