I have to say, I have a very emotive memory of Faithless, one that you cannot describe the beauty of the feeling.

Picture this,

Atop of the Dublin mountains is an old hunting lodge built from stone, it overlooks all of Dublin, it’s called the hellfire club.

Many years back we had a few illegal all night Raves up there, one in particular was the year Faithless had their hit, ‘I cant get no sleep - Insomnia’, there was a way to get on to the roof by climbing the back wall, as you faced the building, go to the back left corner wall and you could get up that way.

Some time in the middle of the night, a few of us had climbed up on to the roof to take a drinking break from the dancing, we were pretty well on (if you follow me) on postage stamps and Doves (I think)

Over the space of about 5 minutes (it seemed anyway) the clouds descended lower than the building and were concealing the city below us, all we could see was the ground surrounding the building and the hill slope away, the cloud cover was then stretched out from somewhere below covering the entire city but the top of the clouds were illuminated by the moon.

Then faithless songs is thrown on……I will never forget that feeling

I know, another one with it, which i also own on Vinyl is this,

They both were great in the days of the Olympic, but LIBERATION gripped the entire rave when it was played, it really did send out a vibration across all the Ravers that made such a feeling in the place i still recall with shivers.

This one keeps on turning up on all my playlists, the perils of modern meta data. Every music app I have keeps spitting this out every hour. Not a huge fan of trance as such but this one is growing on me. ( if it is trance I am not 100% sure tbh), some minor drum rolling but nothing desperate.

Stayed up way too late last Saturday night, lots of drink and a rabbit hole of music... this featured and blew me away yet again - such an absolute classic track and brings me right back to those magic times in the early 90s.

I recall it was the last track played in Homelands 2000 LUSH tent, what an end to the day.

This track is astounding, you have to picture the setting,

Underworld were not the electronic artists of legend they are now, they were still slap bang in the middle of the genesis of the entire explosion that was the Rave and creating tunes in the flow of it all.

When this was spun in the Asylum, holy sh*t, the raw power and impression it had on the place, it was one unbelievable tune to play in the Rave It was played with and should be played with the BPM higher than the video,

It ripped through the place, those lyrics, particularly the lyrics in red,
