I use mine on its lowest setting always and its just right. I can see how it could be a bit high for some. The father forgot his rest one day and used mine and even at its lowest it was too high for him.

The only modification, so to speak, that i've done was to not use the bags that came with it and made my own. I use mine for Benchrest .22 only, and the forend of the rifle has a 3" beavertail stock so none of the bags available suited. I used half inch rubber mat. It gave the stability i needed but was not a "solid" feature so threads the fine line of competition rules. (So far :D)

i was thinking of turning it upside down getting longer spikes and that way the centre height would be a good bit lower but not to sure if this would work

    Hi Ez,

Offload the Caldwell and get yourself a Ferrari or Cicognani rest....shootin with either is a breeze and will make a helluva difference

Hey Vinniew, long time no hear.

Was looking into a Seb rest, but the last few rifles have cleared out the Credit Union account. What kind of bucks are they?

Just had a look at them. They seem perfect. Multiple direction movements, solid base and good wide rest. Will look into one. Seem to be as good as Seb, but more along my price range.

    Cheers.

I have a cicognani bought for our rifle...ur welcome to take it home and try it if you want before you order. They have a new windage top too....better than the front bag original set-up....adjustable side walls....teflon slidey bits....very sexy kit. I reckon the best out there!!
