I usually throw it in after I've heated the milk, but sometimes if it's not hot enough I throw the whole lot back into the microwave for a little while (wouldn't go over a minute here unless you like your milk burnt)

I just like the flavour of the vanilla essence, it's grand without.

I've tried some of the fancier hot chocolate to make at home but I have to say this is the nicest way I've found

the goose coffee shop in drumcondra do a great white hot chocolate..Butlers also do great hot chocs with marshmallows
