Childhood Dreams & Wishes That Didn't Come True?

When you were growing up, was there anything you longed for that you didn't get?

A gift, a holiday, computer, school trip etc etc?

Please no: "I just wanted Daddy and Mammy to stop fighting.." or "Uncle Tommy said he'd buy me Look In magazine if I did it .."

    Keep that **** for PI .. :p

    Mine

    I wanted a RALEIGH VEKTAR :(

A kid I knew could play the theme tune to ChiPs on his and when we played ChiPs on our bikes, the girls be looking at him and not me on my bike.

Raleigh Burner's were also cool and high on wish list, I hated BMX's though, Man Utd fans always cycled them.

The next year though, small bikes died a death as the Mountain Bike reigned supreme and my Dad made amends bigtime when he bought me a Raleigh Maverick .. and yes, I had some dirty weekends :D

I always wanted a Barbie Jeep, the ones that ran on batteries. I asked for it for so many Christmases in a row, and I always got the same excuse, "Santa is all out of Barbie Jeeps"

    I still want one.

What in the name of **** is that thing?

    My broken dreams :o

It was basically a Raleigh Burner with a Bodykit that had Sound Effects, Alarm and a FM/AM Radio built in allowing a kid to travel at speed while pretending to be a member of the California Highway Patrol

I also wanted a commadore 64 because the games were better than the atari 130xe which I had. I also wanted the tele to be colour as I had a green monitor.

When i finally got the colour tele I thought i was the dogs b~@*ix

When I was about 8 I really wanted a Sega Master System II after I seen it advertised as a prize in a Christmas Bazaar raffle.. I won it, and I came in my trousers

I think my mam may have rigged the draw but sure what about it!

I always wanted her to rig the draw for the next year's raffle.. one of the prizes was a Hot Wheels set.. but it never happened.. the bitch

I think I may have banished them from my memory. My sister had one and I was jumping around the garden like a lunatic, smashed my face off the back step.

A few days later, bump on head almost healed, I hop on the lolo ball, and within maybe 15 seconds, 20 max, there I was, with another face full of step.

    Great times.
To marry Eric from the little mermaid...

    Ooh good one.

You know that weird feeling when you think girls are gross and then suddenly, hang on, why am I enjoying looking at her!!??? Yep, for me that was Ariel from the Little Mermaid. Hot stuff.

When I was younger I convinced myself that i wasn't from earth and that one day my own "race" would come and take me.

This obviously never came true and i found out in later years that being double jointed was not a charactaristic of aliens!

Also I wanted to be the green power ranger, that turned into the white one in the movie!

The original were my favorite, but I'd say most probably aren't working now as they're so old, wish they re-released them in shops.
I remember a girl in primary brought one in and hid it in the press, the thing started talking away during the class and the teacher kept saying "who's talking/or making them noises?" we were in stitches-took her a while to cop it was a Furby hiding in the press!:)

All I really wanted for god only knows how many years was a Nintendo NES Mario /duck hunt combo.

That movie is completely, totally and utterly responsible for a craze in Dublin (maybe elsewhere, don't know) called scutching.

This entailed kids waiting at traffic lights for cars, trucks, vans that had someting to grab on to and then doing so.

You would then hand on for dear life .. just like Marty McFly did.

Long story short, three broken ribs, left arm fractured in three places with full arm plaster and left wrist fractured with just forearm plaster.

Chest needed stitches and Barry McGuigan Sweatshirt ruined ..

This is what I was going to post...Mr Frosty! You could make slush puppy drinks with it too. I asked Santa for it a few years in a row but never got it. The stuff that came with it was full of E numbers and all that crap so I understand now why I didn't get it, but back then I thought Santa hated me :(

I wanted a Millenium Falcon. No not the toy, I mean an actual real life-size Millenium Falcon.

In the inceasingly unlikely event that I ever become a billionaire I have a plan to buy a plot of land and build a full-size walkaround set like the one from Empire Strikes back.

I wanted to have "The Force". My older brother convinced me he had it and made me do all his housework so that I could get to level 1 ,2 ,3 ect of the force. He also convinced my friend too and we used to fight over who had more force. :p

Also wanted one of those watches that could switch off tele's.
