    Irish Soldiers Executed During WW1-I remember reading the book "Shot At Dawn", and was struck by how innocent and naive most of those who were executed were, and also how in many cases the basic rights of Accused in Court Martials were denied to them, ie, the right to representation. Excellent Book.

    South Tipperary Military History Society is now live on the web, yes our new Website stmhs.ie went live this afternoon.
    Currently you need to type or copy and paste this link into your browser bar at the top of your screen until I manage to entice those pesky search engine robots to find it for themselves, it will not work at the moment in a search engine(However the more you visit the sooner this will be)
    Now I have added in content, photographs, links etc but if there is anything you dont like, or something you think I should include please feel free to email me, I will take everything on board.

    I had never heard of the STMHS before, would definitely be interested in attending some of the events.

    Since I was a kid I've been collecting information on the links of my Tipperary relatives (the La Terrieres of Kiltinan) to WWI, WW2 and the Civil War & War of Independence. There is a strong military history in that part of the world, whether on the British or IRA sides, or more recently, independent Ireland, and it's good to see someone collecting and maintaining all of that military heritage.
