Louth Photographs?

    Hey all,

Just after been mooching through the forum and seen a few different photographs on here. From people actually purposely photographing places for photography reasons, to photographing certain things for other reasons (Biggins photographing closed shops for example and Geezer1000 photographing different areas around Louth).

How about a Drogheda photography thread?

Photographs of Drogheda at night and day, busy and empty, of the stuff that people travel the world to photograph* like the cable bridge and Scotch hall, to things no one really cares about, like the Ramparts and Narrow West Street.

Photographs taken just for the sake of taking them.

(I was going to start off by posting a picture or two I've taken before about the town, but decided I'd rather see if anyone cares first).

    What'dya think?

    *May be an enormous exaggeration

EDIT: Obviously all of Louth would be included.. Not sure why i was only saying Drogheda... It's late!

    Well... a thread :)

Took these in Mornington this morning (I think... I'm so useless with names). Not great but I was only there for two minutes.

loads of pictures of the paddy's day parade and out in the pubs here

    http://www.dacraic.com/

Jesus Christ. Look at the state of that parade.

What a load of crap. A smashed van and car on the back of a lorry, with an ad for a driving school? A golf buggy with a 'Senior Citizens' advert on the front?

It's like something out of Father Ted. :(

Also, whilst I'm posting, a picture I posted in the Emergency Services forum, but also kinda relevant here, the Drogheda Fire & Rescue Station:

I always have the camera in the car or bike. Spend me time goin round snappin stuff. Is this thread not basically the same as the one I started (a few pics of louth?).
I never realised how much stuff was about till i got into photography. Drogheda in particular has loads of hidden gems. Get out there and start exploring:D

Yes I'd put it around '98 or '99 maybe 2000, amazing looking back and thinking what is there now. I didn't actually realise all that was built at the same time.

There could be copyright issues, but in this instance I very much doubt it if its a problem.

Can't see how there would be a copyright issue if it's not being used in a commercial way.

If you think that it's a problem just report that post to the Mod's and have them make a call on it just in case maybe.

If you go out the Ardee Road from Dundalk and take the right turn for Stephenstown Lakes and Knockbridge, its on your right hand side in some fields.. Former beaut of a house, if I had the money I'd be knocking on the owner's door tomorrow!!

Debating on whether this should go here but there's some great photo's of Drogheda/Louth from the 1900's. It would be interesting to recreate some of those shots again and show the before/after 100 years of time.

Anyway I found the old shots interesting so here ya go.
