Claymore glitch?

NOTE: I don't mean "glitch" in the infinite care package sense!

Twice last night, I watched as players ran over my claymores without setting them off.

Was this just a random glitch or is there a perk that gives you this ability?

Did they go off late or just not at all? Scrambler pro delays claymore explosions so perhaps that was all it was?

I have noticed that sometimes when I go to shoot claymores to blow them up, nothing happens and I can walk right by them and shoot the camper they're trying to protect :D

Just didn't go off at all. I watched the kill cam and he was using marathon.

    Stop camping?

Seems like it is a bug so.

Rb, you give out about campers in every thread anyway related to the topic. Grow up, if people want to snipe, what right do you have to criticise them over it?

And I don't mean to back-seat mod or anything, it just annoys me when people criticise others for playing a game in a different method.

So use of the claymore = camping yeah? Case closed

    Ooh touchy touchy.

Let's not get into this again, sure we saw how the campers react to being called out only the other day :D

Breadmonkey: It's probably just another bug, you should check the IW forums to see if other people are reporting it as it's literally the only hope of getting it sorted.

I don't want to get in a personal row with you and derail the thread, it is just that we all paid the same price for the game (some of us even paid more and bought the prestige edition), so if we want to use a sniper rifle, why shouldn't we just because some people don't like getting picked off across a map repeatedly?

scrambler pro delays the claymores i'd say by using marathon he was too quick in goin by it so didn't kill him.

Yes but it didn't actually explode at all!

Just had a quick look at the IW forums and sweet Jesus they suck. Literally every post in every thread is some sort of troll or attack.

Have noticed this myself, always assumed it was because of scrambler, but then I often try to shoot enemy clay's and they don't explode.

Actually happened to me twice last night where I ran through the claymores and they didn't go off. I don't have scrambler pro on all I had was the marathon and light weight set up. Usually when you run through a claymore with this set up the claymore mightn't totally kill you but you're in a bad state. Last night though they just didn't even explode, thought at first it was just cause I'm so super speedy, but after reading this thread hope its a new glitch.Fecking hate claymores.

Lad if the claymore get flashed or stunned it is rendered useless for a short time, if you look at your claymore and it has sparks and **** flying out of it, it will not go off.

Same goes for c4 if it sparks you can not trigger it!

Hmmm, don't remember if it had sparks flying out of it etc. Guess I'll just have to wait and see if it happens again.

Eh, Marathon and Scrambler aren't in the same category so he could be using both?!

Ah yes, I read scavenger for some stupid reason. I doubt he had scrambler on as I'm pretty sure he had a super speedy ninja knifer class but I think we should end this thread since I didn't really have enough info to start it in the first place :)

Yes, i do camp sometimes. I get much more pleasure out of getting the highest score from sniping than from running around with an assault rifle. I will swap between classes depending on the map.

Solution : Point the claymore the other way :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,692 ✭✭✭shawpower

Guys, we really need to give up on this camper trolling. Okay, some people who use these forums don't like that style of play. But that doesn't excuse flaming any thread where someone mentions something that might indicate they camp a bit. I mean, the OP said the IW forums were horrendous with constant trolling/flaming etc. We're in danger of heading that direction with the constant bickering about camping etc.

This forum is far more useful and fun if people can post genuine questions/discussions without having to worry about getting flamed. [/mod] :D

    But seriousy lads,
what is the story with the so called claymore glitch ???
last night I was holding down a room and put a claymore in the doorway behind me and was at the other exit trying to get out of the room safely when I was shot in the back by a dude with a shield on his back. He didn't "witch" past the claymore....he didn't lob a stun grenade in first, he was literally standing still on it when he shot me and he didn't run away or anything. The claymore simply didn't go off.

Very weird as I had great success with scavenger+claymore kills in the same round.

Scrambler pro delays the explosion. So it might have gone off after the kill-cam finished.

CAMPER! Just kidding son. Double-kill with claymores is especially nice.

Claymoring, then getting the same person again with another one that you scavenged from his body is pretty much the most fun ever.

Ha ha love it son, there's nothing wrong with dropping a claymore in the doorway of the door you've just come through as 5 times out of 10 there is someone following you. Got a Pavelow on Karachi last night with the scavenger+claymore combo. Works a treat on that map. Double kills are always nice !!

I'm sure I claymored you a few times last night pal. That's the interesting thing when we play on the same team most of the time, we know each others tactics on any particular map.... then.. if we are on separate teams, obviously you need to make a decision on whether to change tactics or set a trap - although you 'witched' through a few of my sweet claymores last night and stabbed me in the back.

Assuming he was still around at that stage. When I was using scrambler pro I was quite comfortable standing in front of a claymore, shooting somebody and either running off or popping out the riot shield to take the blast.

there is someting to this claymore glitch , was playing last night and got killed by a guy who walked right up to the claymore and shot me in the back of the head. I watched the killcam and was so pissed off i had to turn the xbox off . IW has the cheek to bump up the price on this game and there is not but bugs all over this game. I feel this game might have to go to the trade in bin...... BF BC2 here I come.

Quick piece of advice for afterdeath kills from claymores - if you wait a few seconds after you're killed and don't respawn straight away, your claymore will stay there and can still get you a kill - I love hanging around to get payback if they came from another angle :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 269 ✭✭The Shtig

Thats strange it could be a glitch.

Just because you use claymores doesnt mean you camp... the extreme anti campers are annoying me more than the campers themselves now...

I always use them and like placing them at hot spots where enemys run past often while i move onto somewhere else. An example is in Terminal at the tunnel to the airplane. At the start of every game i plant one at the small entrance from the ladder and it usually guarantees me, maybe even a double :P

Rundown is another handy map for them especially at that small bridge everyone rushes to at the start of the game. Claymores always get me a few kills each game and there's nothing sweeter than seeing a random 100 pop on your screen just as your anxiously waiting for 1 more kill to get a kill streak :D

Was wondering about that the last night Jev/N! i killed some fella and presumed his claymore would disappear so i ran towards but it went off and killed me! Was raging so i was! :pac:

I was wondering last night all right about the claymore's THey were blowing up all right but I seemed to be immune to them. Maybe it was just luck and i was far enough away but it did seem like they got me less than usual

EDIT: Actually, I'm wondering. Someone left an abusive message on my account yday accusing me of lag cheating - which I'm not. Conversely I thought someone else was lag cheating the day before. As I said in another thread I thought they had tweaked the graphics. Now I'm wondering if they have tried to tweak the collision detection/graphics to cut down on the amount of apparent lagging and in doing so have actually just hidden lag delays better ?

+1 not quick respawning if you're using claymores. Especially if you're killed at close quarters and you're someway close to your mine. Its a high percentage kill and I think its around 150-175 xp for the aftermath kill.

Already replied to say thanks for that piece of advice. But thought I'd update to say I put into immediate use last night.

I was playing Terminal, and after killing one guy in the tunnel to the plane, I put down a claymore and walked into the plane itself. Guy had run up the emergency chute and blew me away with Akimbo 1887's. I was about to click to respawn, when this tip came to mind. Delayed for about 2-3 seconds, and then upcomes 250XP; Payback. Kill after death message.

Sweeeeeet!!! Cheers mate. I'll be using this regularly from now on.

My assumption is that this doesn't count towards any kill streak since you are effectively not ingame at the time. (Just me being extra greedy!!)

Nice. I usually wait a few seconds before respawning, always watch killcam, but this is a clear example of how it could be of benefit to wait.

I think its always worthwhile watching the killcam. Others who don't bother and respawn immediately (I know a few who do it), are losing a potential edge.

Maybe. sometimes there is good reason to respawn quick - like when you know where people are and want to get back into it before they move too much.

Me too. But only long enough to see where they were, and to see what kind of class they are running. That can be done often in less that a second. Whereas I consciously waited for at least 3-4 seconds, if not more, because I knew he was heading in the direction of where I left my Claymore. CLICK. BOOM! :)

Yeah, if the guy is deep into your team's spawn area, this can be key. As in, if you are on Afghan say. You and most of your team are in the Poppyfields, when you get killed. If you respawn quickly, it's going to put you close to the same area, because it sees it as a safezone with your team there. A quick respawn here gives you a huge "revenge" advantage because you know exactly where the guy is, while he presumes his flank is still clear because it was before you died.

That's the danger/risk of being a "lone wolf" and being deep in enemy spawn. People tend to give out about the spawn system without realising that a lot of the time it is because of their own strategies. That said, sometimes it is just broken.

Not a bad idea. I'll charge $1 for membership! LoL

You're to blame btw!! I was completely blissfully unaware of the whole COD4 onling gaming scene, until you really strongly suggested I get the game. So I firmly lay blame for my addiction at your door!!

The reason behind my "thinking about the game" is basically that since I was so crap at the start, never having played online before, I really tried hard to figure out how to get up to speed asap.
