    hi al!

I'm looking for some info off somebody who's had a boob job and can tell me about their experience! I've been doing a lot of research on the subject and I'm sure it's what I want as Im completely flat and to be honest it does affect my confidence.

I'm relatively young and wonder how mnuch do the implants change with pregnancy as I plan on having kids in a couple of years?

can you recommend a good clinic? I was looking into going abroad but i think it's best to stay at home for after care but I was also considering going up north as it seems cheaper there.

Is the healing as sore as they say it is???

How long were you out of work for?

That's all I can think of at the min! sorry about all the questions but trying to gather as much info as I can!!!

I *think* there was a thread or two on this in the past so if you search the forum for breast augmentation or breast enlargement you might get some results.

    Best of luck.

I take herbs and have gone up a cup size in 1 1/2 months and even though i lost weight i have still kept them!! Just letting you know there are less risky alternatives. There are phyoestrogen herbs i took such as flax seed, maca, goats rue, fennel, blessed thistle and fenugreek.

I think it would be worth it to try and see if you like it before you decide on having a permanent fix. No surgery or scars or anaesthetic.

You know the pill makes your breasts grow? Well if it's oestrogen it's temporary and they come down, but if it's progesterone only (implanon, depo provera) they stay big even when you come off it. Just watch out for weight gain if you go this route.

Hi .. I had a boob job last year and Im so happy with the results. I must be honest the first week I was in a lot of pain.. but it quickly began to subsite. I chose to go to Poland for the surgery and it was the best decision I made. The staff were fantastic and the after care was excellent.I stayed in the clinc over night and I then spent the remaniding week in a hotel and I vistied the clinic to meet with the surgon every day for the week. I was under the knife so to speak for an hour so it wasnt too long.. and the name of the clinic I went to is BeautyHoilday you can find everything you need to know on their website BeautyHoilday.com best of luck xxx

Do you really need a boob job? i was a 32 A from age 12 - 18 after my first baby i went to a 34 B, same after my second baby and after the 3rd baby a 36c.

some fellas would be put off by fake boobs were as others love them, you dont want someone comming up to you and chatting you up just because you have big boobs.

If a guy likes you it shouldn't matter how big your boobs are!!!!!!

Im not getting it done to attract to male atttract...it's something I want to do for myself. I would never change my body for that reason, Plus I have a boyfriend and he'l stand by me whatever I decide to do. He doesn't particulary like them but he knows its something that has affected my confidence. I totally agree a fella should like you for who you are but as i've said I'm not getting it done to please anybody else.

I must say I am very annoyed reading your post.. the vast majority of women including myself that chose to have a breast enlargment to acheive larger breasts do not do it for men they do it for them. Having a breast enlargment for me personally has made me a lot happier with my figure and my looks.. now dont get me wrong I loved how I looked before but I even happier since the surgery.. I am in a loving realtionship and my bf completely respects my choice.. as I did it for me not to go and impress some man. My attitude is firmly if someone wants to be with me they must accept that this is how I look and if the cant then thats their problem.. but i am sick and tired to the stigma attached to having a breast enlargment people assume you do it to impress and get noticed by men or to become a glamour model.. its the 21st... if women want larger breasts they should not be critisised for making that choice..

I was just wondering what confidence are you going to be given with a bigger chest?

Best of luck with the op when you decide to have it.

Just a friendly warning - herbal supplements are not without side effects simply because they are "all natural"

In fact that is a whopper of a lie that the "natural remedies" industry peddles.

Your body does not care where a molecule comes from - if it was made in a lab or in a tree. All that matters is what your body does with it.

And taking hormones, regardless of their source, is not something that should be done without the advice of a doctor with considerations for safety and dosage.

I would be concerned about the potential for increased risk of breast and reproductive organ cancers when it comes to these "herbal" breast augmenters.

+1000. There is a notion about that "natural" or "herbal" is risk free. Often pushed by the hippie crowd backed up by companies pushing their wares. "Oh they're not chemical you know". Eh yep. They are. Deadly nightshade is a natural herb that will kill you stone dead.

I would also agree with Xiney re long term side effects. Any herbal mixture/chemical cocktail that will systemically affect you to the point where breasts enlarge, will have other effects. Hey some may be good, in the same way the pill increases risks of some illnesses and decreases risks in others.

    Buyer beware I'd be thinking.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

Actually, on the topic of deadly nightshade, it's also known as "belladonna", ie, Beautiful Woman in Italian.

This is because in historical Italy, women used to put it into their eyes in order to dilate their pupils, which was considered to make them appear more beautiful.

They'd go blind from prolonged use.

    Totally natural product though! ;)

i'm a pear shape when i gain weight it is mostly in my thighs and bum. Yes i have been looking for ways to get bigger boobs since i was 18 and realized that they wouldn't be growing any bigger!!

i take 2 in the morning and two in the evening. I read in flat2fab ebook (my friend gave me her copy for free) that you should take the herbs 1-3months then for month 4 have a herb free break where you do a mini detox so your body doesn't get desensitized to them.
Ps i signed up for flat2fab emails for free and she sends you alot of useful tips for natural breast enhancement.

Also i've read up alot about all the things you can do to help such as
    1) doing cardio helps the hormones circulate
    2) caffeine can hinder results so i barely drink any
    3) refined sugars- white bread, pasta, sweets are bad for NBE
    4) chest exercises can help appearance of area
    5) massaging them is a really great way of helping them to grow

this makes perfect sense.. the idea of the herbs is nearly trick your body into simulating parts of puberty... to encourage breast growth... when your breasts first start to grow...

the above are symptoms of puberty .....

Where id you get the pills and how much are they?
Do you mind me asking what your bra size was before and what it is now?
And would you rec. them to someone like me looking to improve their proportions?

i sent you a private message hun
34b-34D I keep track of my weight and measurements my weight has not changed really i went up 2lbs then lost 4lbs

Another girl on line got some breakouts from the pills but after 1 week or so they have cleared up

i would recommend them because the seller is a woman who takes them herself and has before and after photos so if you are going to take any brand these are good. Also there is a 90 day money back garantee. She has photos on her page

However to save money you could possibly buy some of the ingredient separately if you dont mind taking alot of pills throughout the day.

I bought them online and they got shipped from america here is the site http://www.sirensofhollywood.com/ they are about 90 euro for 3 months it is cheaper to buy more. Cheap compared to surgery but still dear enough so an alternative would be to try and buy some herbs on ebay separately and you may save money this way and get more potency. It is from america so it is about 20 euro shipping so altogether 110 euro

i've tried quite a few that i might as well mention that didn't work -breast sculptor for 6 months (bought on ebay), top up 2months, volutoa only for 1 month as it is too expensive!, also tried just buying fenugreek, maca, alfafa, blessed thistle, dong quoi, saw palmetto and wild yam and tried both massaging fenugreek and wild yam and taking these!
I've actually tried alot of things. That said even though these mostly gave me little more than horniness they may work for you so can't knock them that much!

I'm nearing 3 months on Girls love curves so am going to take a break from them for 1 month so i don't plateau and then reasess my financies. i may have a look to see how much the main ingredients will cost me and compare

What, if any, is the cancer risk of phytoeostregens - I would be worried about taking anything that would artificially cause breast tissue to 'grow'

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,085 ✭✭✭Xiney

    The studies aren't conclusive.

This is why I'll continue to eat soy products (which contain lots of phytoestrogens) in moderation - but you wouldn't catch me taking phytoestrogens on purpose.

I have the implanon inserted and my boobs have grown a lot from it.

I went from a small 34C to a 34DD. Found that out today, i've been wearing the wrong bra for the last year :o but my weight has more or less stayed the same.

If it does last permanently as another poster said I'll be well pleased though!

I hope the stigma of having a boob job never goes away, especially within the medical proffesion.
I think its woefully unethical for doctors to allow healthy young women to be cut open and have stuff inserted inside them to get a confidence boost. I think when empowerment has to come through a surgeons blade its a very sick society we live in and I hope for future generations of women and girls that breast augmentation never is without stigma.

I appreciate that you have your opinions and I have mine,I most certainly will be telling my daughters that confidence and positive body image comes from within and cannot be brought in a plastic surgery clinic.

Increased cancer risk with implants as well, as lumps are much more difficult to detect when you have silicone in your chest.

Haha, I have to say I'm thrilled! I've had it in for 6 months, but I was on depo before that. The size increase has happened in the last 6 months.

No side effects. I only started having a period last month. Its not for everyone, but I would strongly recommend giving depo a try!

I think this statement is a very small minded view. Maybe you are in the lucky position where you do not feel the need for surgery however there are many women out there that do. Because we live in such a society that people are so highly judged by how they look it is important to feel good about yourself.

I am proud to say I have had breast implants for cosmetic reasons & I have no regrets. I wish I did not feel the need to change my body but unfortunately I matured in such a way that one of my breasts never developed. Despite taking hormones etc. it never changed. I had one breast a D cup and the other smaller than an A in size. Not only did it make me visually look off but also there are no clothes that help in any way. No padding worked, nothing. I felt I couldnt go swimming, I felt inadequate. I would have happily reduced/enhanced either one just to feel in some way balanced. So I had implants. Nothing major and both behind the tissue (so I could still breast feed...later in life if needed). I am now a 36 D and although they never will be perfect I enjoy my body more. I never flaunt myself or am comfortable wearing low cut tops but at least I can wear a bra that fits and clothes that are not huge oversized jumpers. The icing on the cake was being bridesmaid at my aunts wedding and wearing a fitted dress :).

I was young when I had my implants, I have them nearly 8 years now with no problems. I went to a specialist in Ireland and was fully supported in every way by doctors, family etc. It was very painful and recovery like after any surgery is uncomfortable and slow.

However this is what I needed to have a positive self image and I don't care what anyone says. You only get one life (as far as I know) so live it as you want to. Getting implants didn't make me a better person, didn't change my life, didn't get me more attention...in fact if you were a stranger you probably wouldn't know I had them done. But they made me feel comfortable being me.

I think if you really feel unhappy with how you look then do something about it but do it responsibly and carefully. Its no body's business but your own.

I maybe different than most but it doesn't excuse the fact I had my breasts done for cosmetic reasons and not for any medical purposes (I did not have cancer etc....).

Best of Luck with your decision! I wish you all the best!

Well I am very proud to have breast implants. Unlike you I live in the 21st century where looking good is very important. and while I do agree that confidance should come from within if changing apart of your body helps you to gain confidance then Im all for it..

I agree with this. I accept that some women who've had implants find thier confidence boosted along with their bra size, but for how long? The truth is the newly aquired confidence lasts only as long as the implants do, and in that case the confidence is as artificial as the 'breasts'.

Breast implants are notorious for causing very serious health problems, including chemical poisoning as the implants regularly rupture and silicone/saline leaks into the system. I wouldn't do it in a million years.

It's heartening to read that some women do it for thier own benefit rather than to attract men, but lets be honest here, it's just as well for them that they do because the vast majority of men are attracted to natural female curves, not artificially enhanced ones.

Im not even going to bother arguing with most of your points because if youre that small minded Im sure whatever I say isnt going to change anything but what I will say is that despite the fact that I had breast implants for my own self .. my bf happens to love them and there are lots of men that love the fact that women have breast implants as when one has breast implants the shape of the breast is usually nicer than natually shaped breasts. they are firmer.. higher and generally more attractive :)

You don't sound like a confident woman to me Jessica-Rabbit. You sound like quite an insecure woman, to be honest.

I'm not going to bother discussing this with you further as you have clearly deliberately removed yourself from the realities involved here since you've convinced yourself that implants are safe and men prefer feeling plastic!

Ok I dont want to argue with you or cause a fight..but I have to reply to your message with total honesty on my part. I knew since my late teens that I wasnt going to have large breasts and honestly I was very content with my figure and my looks. I am very lucky in that regard.. However I always contemplated having larger breasts but as I was aware that it is majour surgery i did not want to rush into anything that may risk my life health and end up regretting my choice so I waited.. until I was 23 ..im now 24.. to have the surgery.. I felt that if I put off the sugery and think about everything logically it will help me come to a decision.. I researched everything i needed to know before undergoing the surgery.. now I must point out that no surgeron will preform this kind of surgery on someone unless they are satisfied that the there will few or no risks .. I underwent a medical prior to having the surgery and as I am in perfect health I fully quailfied for the surgery.. if there was any risks there is no way I would have had the surgery.. Second point .. I had the implants placed behind the muscle of the breast so if i devolope breast cancer in the future it will be as easy to dectect the cancer as it would be on natural breasts..
I am in no way insecure .. I am a very happy confidant person .. and like most people I like looking my best as the better you look the better you feel.. that is a fact.. but i am very aware beauty is only skin deep and dosent last forever.. but I am just as nice on the inside as I am on the outside

I think this statement is a very small minded view. Maybe you are in the lucky position where you do not feel the need for surgery however there are many women out there that do. Because we live in such a society that people are so highly judged by how they look it is important to feel good about yourself.

My breasts are starting to go a bit droopy as I head towards my thirties. There not very big, about a b/c cup since I went of the pill. They point out at the sides when I lie down.I have little hairs on them and as Im pale their pretty white.
According to societys fake standards my breats are probably pretty horrific, but their Normal and real. I am healthy and they serve their function as I get pretty aroused when I have my nipples touched.

Yes, I could change them and get more attention from the opposite sex which Im sure would give me a transient boost in confidence. I don't want to jepordise my sexual pleasure, as I believe the nerve endings in my breast are delicate and I don't fancy having them chopped by a surgeons knife just for a greater sexual allure.

I appreciate that we have different approaches to this problem of low body confidence in women though. Yours is paying a surgeon to 'fix' your problem and continuing the need for plastic surgery and obsession over looks for the next generation.
Mine is to empower women to realise that social change is possible. We don't have to pass on our body insecurities to the next operation and we can really look after out health and not expose ourselves to the risk of surgical complications.

You don't have to explain to me or anyone else why you had your surgery Jessica Rabbit, that's your business. I am annoyed though that you and other posters have bandied the term 'small minded' about at myself and any other poster who happens to disagree with you. You have a right to your opinion and I have a right to disagree with it.

I do not like breast implants for a number of reasons, the safety issue being probably the most important. (And no, there is no such thing as a guarantee of complete safety - not with implants or any other surgery) Also Panda100's points related to women’s psychological well-being are very pertinent to me.

Finally, I dislike breast implants because I find them visually ugly. This mightn't suit you but it is my opinion and it has been the opinion of every man I've ever heard discuss the subject. My point is that people are entitled to hold this or any other opinion, regardless whether you agree with it or not.

I never understand those programmes and magazine articles on botched plastic surgery with the women in tears over how badly wrong their surgery went. Its what they signed up for.Surgery IS risky, thats why you have to sign a disclaimer that you realise death and other complications are possible.

okay i started this thread in a hope to get information about breast augmentation, I understand there is a lot of different opinions on this subject and probably always will be. For somebody who does not want a boob job can find it hard to see why anyone wants to alter there body and will completely disagree with it. your entitled to your opinion and I will not argue with it but please don't post in this thread how much you do not like the idea of it etc etc...if you want to slate it start your own thread but i'm looking for information that will actually help me and views from people that know where I'm coming from. Yes, everyone is entitled to there opinion, I don't disagree with that for one second but this thread was not started on your views on breast surgery.

The information about the dangers of surgical implants could be extremely beneficial to you Pebbles, if you weren't so keen to reject it. Since you came here looking for advice, I'd advise you to thoroughly research the implications of implants before you undertake what could be a majorly hazardous risk to your health. Best of luck to you, whatever you decide.

In the thread- things you know because of your job there is a poster that posted that after ten years after implants they look terrible no matter how old you are.

I'd try and dig up that poster and pm him - she seems like someone in the know.

    EDIT: Found it http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=58061691&highlight=implants#post58061691

For one I would be quite happy with you breasts....at least you have two and if I was lucky enough to have been born with 2 I would be more than thrilled....I was not. I did not get surgery to get more attention from the opposite sex...that is an insult to me. As I said I never expose them. All I wanted to do was to be able to wear a bra. In fact I would have been happy to have removed the larger one and have a flat chest. One they were semi even one way or another. And I know no one has an even chest, I still don't now but the different in them previously was like looking at two different peoples breasts on the one body. Sometimes there is a need for cosmetic surgery. Also thankfully my problem was so dramatic that I did not PAY as you say to FIX the problem, my health insurance did, or the vast majority of it anyway. Thankfully they were more sympathetic.

herbs work for a lot of women around the worlds and have been used for centuaries...
the are all natural products that have virtually no side effect....
highy recommend as a breat enhancement...

Some of the ingredients can mess with the pill if your on it, dont know all of them but wild yam extract seems to be the worst offender, also St. Johns wort (but thats for depression) I'd do a fair bit of googleing before you settle on a course of herbs to take. Good Luck :)

    Can you feel the implant?

Hi ya, I normally just lurk around here but I joined to add my own experience. I had a breast augmentation at the Auralia clinic in Dublin when I was 19, almost 3 years ago now. I believe it was €5400.
I went from a mid-sized A cup to a 32D (although augmented breasts look smaller than real breats, I look more like a mid C). Personally I had a very good experience, I had almost no pain at all, I was in and out of the hospital in a few hours and even went shopping straight after! :D
Before I got them done I was OBSESSED with them and I was constantly comparring myself to others, now they're just there, I don't even think about them most of the time. They look very natural, I was very concerned about having they fake look before my surgery but nobody ever suspects they're fake. Although men can tell as soon as they feel them because I guess they are a fair bit firmer then real breasts (ive never felt real breasts so I can't really compare) but I'm always told that they feel freaking fantastic! :D
