accelerate down the slip road and match your speed to the traffic in lane one, indicate right and pull decisivley into the best gap available which should (if the people in lane one can drive at all) open up for you by them either adjusting their speed or pulling into lane two.(you dont HAVE to do 120k btw)

Its no big deal, you position your car ahead of a car in the inside lane and indicate your intention to pull in to the gap, and then do so...if he can drive at all he will make sure he isnt in the way...

you signal your intention and you do it....you dont have to wait til someone lets you out, if you get your nose in front, thats enough....be positive and they will make a space for you...
That's three times now that you've advised pulling onto a motorway without waiting for a gap and just expecting everyone else to get out of your way. Seriously, WTF? Did you not realise how incredibly stupid that sounded the first time?

It is your responsibility to merge safely with traffic already on the motorway, it is not their responsibility to move out of your way. IF people slow down or move over to let you on it is a courtesy, they do not need to do it, and if you just driving onto the motorway whenever you feel like it results in other drivers hitting you or having to swerve causing a crash that is 100% your fault. If you were approaching a t-junction would you just drive straight onto the main carriageway without stopping or looking? Same exact thing.

corktina does have a point though, specially with reference to some driver hesitation & slowing down when entering a motorway! > I totally agree with corktina's suggestion of 'assertiveness' when coming off a slip road & entering a motorway, needless to say "Of course you dont just barge out onto the motorway without indicating or waiting to be beckoned", but you must take the inititive in a sensible fashion without causing the traffic on your right to slow down on your hebahf!

Its the drivers who hesitate & slow down coming off the slip roads that cause many of the problems!
