^ even a dynamic IP can be traced....there are websites online if you input your IP address it'll show exactly where you are, that IP is logged by the ISP which is linked to your account.

There is NO such thing as anonimity on the internet, which is one reason why i use my real name. Can't be arsed....if you're not doing anything seriously dodgy you've nothing to fear + watch what you type/say....it's all cached and can come back to bite you in the a** one day!

It was my understanding that for SD shows people were recording them onto DVDs and transfering them onto their computer. Im pretty sure Tivo has a feature to transfer recorded SD content to your computer too.

Like Richard mentioned, most people would use a capture card (TV tuner) - there are many HD-capable ones available now, especially in the US. I'm pretty sure the entire process is automated for the really organized groups right from the initial recording to the finished file. That's why a few times you get screw ups like the wrong episode been made available because a TV station airs a repeat instead of a new episode, etc - in most cases, nobody has really checked the file until it has been released to the wild wirly web (and that's why we end up with propers as well).

The movie studios in particular have fought for years to plug the "analog hole", to combat this kind of thing - that's how we've ended up with crap like the broadcast flag:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Broadcast_flag

Which hasn't become widespread thankfully... Similar concerns have also made a mess of CableCard tuners for PCs, though things seem to be getting better on that front recently.

If the content holders could, they would try to DRM absolutely everything (as they have) - but as it's clearly obvious with Bluray (and everything before it), DRM never really works, it just becomes more of a pain for casual users of those technologies...

When a Mammy torrent and a Daddy torrent love each other AND ARE MARRIED very much they hug in a special way, that's where they come from.

That's a good point actually, would have never thought of that! Fair play for people putting in all the effort though to keep us Europeans entertained.

We have to be responsible on what we post on the internet...;)

OT: as said above, it's not that much of a job to edit some stuff out.
