Hormones in a nutshell. Hormones are basically things secreted that command your body to do stuff.What are hormones though?
Likeee does everyone have them?
I want scientific answers and I want them now!
Simplest example is adrenaline. This is secreted when you are frightened (in an emergency situation). It causes your heart to beat faster, your stomach to stop digesting, your brain to work faster, your breathing rate to increase (to accomodate the much-faster-working muscles).
The main ones involved in being a teenager is testosterone and oestrogen. Testosterone is the male sex hormone. When a boy starts puberty, large amounts of testosterone begin to be secreted. This causes hair growth, voice deepening, growth, adult BO, muscle development, increased metabolism, increased libido, errr...reproductive system developes...
Girls have small amounts of testosterone is well.
Oestrogen is the female sex hormone, and this starts all the female developments (you know what I mean). It also starts reproductive system...err...changes.
Fad, can I give a sex ed class here? This is appalling.
