It was gay then but now it's not.

First off let me just say this tread doesn’t have anything to do with actually being homosexual but merely what was once seen as something that a straight man just wouldn’t do but now is socially acceptable for them.

The idea of the metro sexual man is still relatively new and I can remember a time when certain things would be viewed as for women only or “gay”. For example a man admitting to waxing any part of his body now is fine but in the not too distant past would have been viewed totally differently.

It seams to me that the two sexes are getting closer and that there are less and less things outside of the physical differences between the two that are limited to one sex.

So what do people think? Is this a good thing? Are there still taboos for men or women when it comes to something only the other sex should do? Or is society now totally open to men behaving in ways previously reserved for women and visa versa?

Well a guy shagging another guy is still gay, besides that it's pretty open

Waxing (chests, arms or legs), make-up and having 50 pots of stuff in the bathroom to perform every possible "-ise" and whatever else is still a no-no in my book, as are sunbeds.

Women only gyms, sexist fcuks, yet the same women bítch and whine about not getting into golf clubs. I hope they never let the same bítches into the golf clubs, EVER. :)

Men waxing is not normal, do not be deluded.

So if a man waxed his back in this day and age it would not be considered fine by most people?

I haven’t done any survey it was a pure assumption.

Well if it's a man's penis in my arse I suppose it's kinda gay. However if it's one of them new fangled women's penises that you can buy in the Ann Summer's then that ain't gay at all now is it? After all, it's strapped onto a purty fine lady.

Homosexuality used to be punishable by death in England, then by prison sentence, then by flogging, then they made it legal. I'm getting out before they make it compulsory.

Ok so if your dream woman said to you "If you get your chest waxed ya can have me anyway ya want me" You're saying you wouldn't do it for fear of being branded gay

    I'd do it in a heartbeat :D

For me, it's still only the back that is allowed and even then, it's the end result of the missus nagging.

We are still not as comfortable about people's sexuailty compared to other countries still in my view.

i was in Hardcourt St Saturday night and two guys were kissing. The looks they got from some blokes you swear they had two heads each.

You must have a veyr dim view on "The wild peoples of the country"

My mam told me once of a gay couple that lived in the village by her childhood home, nothing wwas ever said against them and they fitted in with everyone quie well...and bear in ind that was 50's-60's Ireland.

People dont mind if somones gay,But not long ago a friend of mine was found out to be in the closet and people began to take the piss out of him...Not because he as gay but because he ws embarased about it,they wouldnt have bothered otherwise heh.

But yeah guys like chickflicks, obssed with their hair etc..Its always been that case I'd say,but we were more secret about it:pac:

Depends if they're good-looking or not. Ugly lesbians are just awful to look at.

    Smoking cigarettes

    Wearing wristwatches

    Foppish hair

All considered unmanly at one stage, yet people don't bat an eyelid at the above these days.

Well if there was a girl I fancied and I happened to get wind that she preferred lads who waxed I'd take my accord off to the salon and get waxed!

Nah I'm not that petty, if my chest hair bothers her she can fúck off. It's part of who I am :D

Apparantly when lads are sending texts to each other these days they end the texts with hugs and kisses-ie xoxo
