Maybe but the Sun coming thru the tennis racquet makes up for the other shortcomings in the picture.

Really love nooSixty's flower shot ,also 8cellsSandymount shot- I used to hate the Sandymount Chimneys but now I love them and I also really love Byran Wall's Tim Burton type shot.

Thanks! You might start hating them again now after this one!
Same shot with a Hoya R72 infrared filter. Went on a filter test earlier today!

Do you mind if I ask what the shortcomings are? I just got the camera for Christmas so I'm a newbie and would like to know how I could improve that shot?

    Hi!
    1) dirt on the sensor (shows up in the blue sky)
    2) Normally it's a no no to shoot into the Sun and if you are you stand a better chance using a lens hood.
also some more contrast and saturation would be nice too.

Is it possible the dirt is on/in the lens? I can find the spot in the pictures taken with my kit lens but not the ones with my zoom lens.

In that photo you have 1 spot which is sensor dirt but it is very minimal and because your aperture was at f22 it will show any speck that may be on your sensor. The little round mark in your photo which is central and about 32millimeters down from the top is sensor dirt. Nothing to worry about. You can clone it out with software.

I did say the photo still came thru!

Jackobyte - After I like but you lost a bit of detail in the statue, hand mostly but the pic works, I love the Sun glare or whatever u call it now.
I far prefer the reworked version, more dramatic which goes hand in hand with the subject.
Good to see the dirt spot gone too, they do me head in. :)

Same. It usually never crosses my mind to edit things like contrast, saturation, etc. I usually tend to take the picture straight from the camera and not even consider reworking it. Thanks for the tips.
