How will they go about relegating 5 teams? The 4 teams in the relegation semi finals will be automatically relegated but where will they get the fifth team from?

Saimiliar happened with senior hurling relegation.
I'd guess the 4 that would normally be in relegation semi finals will go down. Then the last team down will come from one of the 4 teams who beat the previous 4.
Depending on the draw some really strong teams could easily find themselves in a relegation dogfight

pretty much as stated above but , the teams that make the 1/4 finals this year will be seeded next year , so if cratloe and say kilmurry ibrickane for example get to the last 8 this year they wont meet in the first round next year ,

like this year the first round will be contested by 16 teams , the 8 losers will play off against each other , but instead of teams entering a relegation playoff , the 4 teams that lose there 2nd game will be relegated ,

the 5 team will come from what is better known as the senior B championship , the 4 losing teams from round 3 enter at this stage , the team that fails to win another game from here will go down

So lose 2 games and you're gone! Sounds harsh!

Yes, a lot depends on luck of the draw.
I think that all teams who won their 1st round this year will be seeded for next year's draw. That gives some level of safety to the stronger teams.

But as I said, a nasty draw and u could be in serious trouble, and with so many teams dropping down it will be hard to get back up.

I thought it was the 8 teams that get to the quarter finals that are going to be seeded for next year?

That makes more sense to be honest.

What a day for Doora Barefield GAA club today. Their U14 boys and girls football teams won the Feile Division 4 and 3 titles respectively today. Congrats to management, the players and their parents who will feel a huge sense of pride this evening.

The Clare minor hurling team to play Limerick in the Munster Minor Hurling Championship semi-final in Ennis has been announced. Surprised that Shane McInerney, Cian McInerney (both Inagh-Kilnamona) and Gearoid Cahill (Corofin) are not in the starting 15. Anyways the 15 players that will start for Clare tomorrow along with the 5 subs will hopefully play a big part in sealing the Banner County's place in the Munster Final for the first time since 2012. Team in full is

    1. Eamonn Foudy (Inagh/Kilnamona)

    2. Sean Crowley (Kilmaley)

    3. Ross Hayes (Crusheen)

    4. Bradley Higgins (Kilmaley)

    5. Diarmuid Ryan (Cratloe)

    6. Cian Minogue (Bodyke)

    7. Aidan McCarthy (Inagh/Kilnamona)

    8. Keith White (Inagh/Kilnamona)

    9. Lee Brack (Clarecastle)

    10. Eoin Fitzgerald (Inagh/Kilnamona)

    17. Rian Considine (Cratloe)

    12. Tiernan Agnew (Sixmilebridge)

    13. Paul Corry (Sixmilebridge)

    14. Gary Cooney (O'Callaghan Mills)

    15. Breffni Horner (Crusheen)

Yes indeed, well done to them. Our girls (Cooraclare) were beaten in that final last year. Both of them are meeting in the County Final replay this Thursday evening.

Yeah definitely, it important also that the lads play on for an extended time this year, it can play a big part in their development. A win and they are at least to an AI QF. Surprised Tierney isn't there, I think he was a starter in midfield last year. Looks like there is good competition within the squad given the changes.

slightly surprised with one or two inclusions myself , cian mcinerney is captain is'nt he , and not starting , would have expected him in as corner back

how strong is this limerick side the , this on the scale of things is probably not as strong a minor side as we might have had a few years ago but i would imagine they would be in with a real shout

That was not good for the heart! Brilliant win for the Banner. Tremendous heart shown from both teams. From a banner point of view I thought that our defense was outstanding. I don't like praising one particular minor player over another on any public forum. That is because it would be unfair to single out one player tonight it was sheer bravery from all our young heroes. It was an outstanding team effort and everyone put an extraordinary shift. Just speechless. July 9th can hopefully be a famous day for the saffron and blue. HON THE BANNER!!!!!!

Yes, great win tonight, really had to dig it out. Thought we made hard work of it, but the lads won which is the main thing.

Very much lokking forward to next week now!

Hit a serious amount of wides but plenty of time to work on them things . It probably was a bit out of character of them to be so wasteful .

Good use of the panel and subs too I taught . Cooney McCarthy and agnew were excellent . Let's hope we can iron out one or two things in time for the final

Yes indeed. Diarmuid Ryan looks a good prospect. And Minogue is a fine tall lad.

Great win for the Clare senior footballers today v Laois. However the last 2 Jack Daly Champions, Kilmurry Ibrickane and St. Josephs Miltown are threatening to withdraw their county players for the next round of the qualifiers and this threat stems from the lack of availability of members of the Clare senior football squad to their clubs for the Cusack Cup. Lets hope common sense will prevail and this can be resolved positively and Clare can have no distractions ahead of round 3 of the qualifiers.

    clare 2-18 -0-14 laois

good win for the footballers in o'moore park , laois were not at the races at all today and very much performed as a division 4 team , clare led for most of the first half playing pretty much within themselves , missing several chances and keeping the home side in the game, probably flattered to go in 0-11 -0-08 up at half time

game was quickly put to bed with a scrappy kealan sexton goal at the start of the second , jamie malone atoned for a disallowed first half goal shortly after wards and netted the second major of the game it was game over with probably 20 minutes to go

for the last 15 minutes it was a case of blooding new players with several players getting there championship debuts . clare used a 7th sub when kevin hartnet went off as a blood sub for eoin collins much to the confusion of many afterwards ,

crazy to think laois beat us out the gate 4 years ago in ennis , just goes to show the direction in which both counties are going at the moment , todays win was just as facile as the one 4 years ago , bigger tests await lest hope we avail of a home draw in the next round , on our day we are capable of beating any of the other 3 teams the next day out

    scorers

    eoin cleary 0-9
    kealan sexton 1-2
    jamie malone 1-1
    pearse lillis 0-2
    gary brennan 0-2
    cathal o'connor 0-2

excellent draw in nolan park for the girls against kilkenny given them a real chance now to advance to the 1/4 finals with a draw against the reigning league and all ireland champions , galway next up will be another huge test though

dont think it will happen , do you think miltown will withdraw connor cleary for the munster final as well , wont happen , give us a great chance against any of the other 3 remaining teams especially at home the kerry game will stand to us
