RULES

• 2 day time-out (Issues regarding claiming wins as in last league - basically don't be ghey about claiming it, give them a chance if possible)
• 0 day timebank
• You can play a max of 3 games per week
• You may challenge people placed at most 4 places above you
• Playing colour should be selected randomly (RHP has this option)
• You can decline a game if:
• *Outside the range
• *No free slots
• *Certain circumstances like vacation etc.
• New players entering the ladder join at the bottom

If:

• The higher placed person loses, then the players exchange position
• The higher placed person wins, no position change

I havent claimed any time outs yet but my god the two im playing are taking ages to move I could have claimed 2 timeouts ten times over by now, MOVE ur ass already

Hope you're not referring to me fartmaster, you've been moving quite slow in our game, I have 50 or 60 going though so I don't mind. I could have timed out fretfret but chose not to, I normally take skulls so I will next time.

You have 50-60 games going??? How can you keep track of your plans in each game?

sorry I dont really like Red hot pawn the layout is quite horrible compared to some of the other sites i play my chess, btw dont claim the timeout if I move to slow, no one should as its a hollow victory

Top players (like Dave ) don't live and die by a plan. They assess each position as they see it and select the best move available.

Hmmm, I used to play a max of 6 games on RHP but stopped as I was losing the thread. Now I never go above 3-4. Each to their own I suppose!

Does anyone else find the ladder a little confusing? How often will it be posted/updated? And how does that work exactly. It doesn't seem straight forward to work out with so many games going on.

If I challenge someone 4 places above me... and they end up winning another game and moving up 4 places on the ladder... and then I beat them... does that mean I move up 8 places or 4?

(which I try to update once a week) because otherwise it just makes this whole thing too messy to handle.

As I said in the original post, I will try to update it once a week, however I have started revising for finals, so it may be slightly more sporadic

Movement up the table happens when the game finishes, regardless of the fact that the table isn't updated until the end of the week. So in your hypothetical situation you would move up 8 places. I agree the situation is not ideal because we don't have a dynamic table, but as far as I can see this is the only option we have, unless someone(hint, hint) has web-space and the time on their hands to code something nice and sweet that will run a live table for us...

Would it be possible that we all update the ladder as we go? As in, re-post it after our game results with the changes? It wouldn't be that hard as we would each only be making our one change. And if a mistake is made anyone can point it out.

Maybe not ideal either but in order to know who to challenge we have to more or less keep track of the ladder in our heads anyway until it's reposted.

the only thing with this is that you would have to rely on people to report their games when they have finished. but i guess if they didnt report the game well then they could be kicked from the ladder

I think we could give it a try, i think its free too, well it was when i was using it before, and it was run on a points and ranking system so you wouldnt have to work anything out or record wins or losses because this will do it for you

just a suggestion . you dont have to use it...
