    Thats true,

When I was in first year we had to try out all the options available in my school which included woodwork.
My teacher told me the only thing I would ever amount to be would be a cleaner so he made me clean, empty bins and just do every crap thing possible :( Failed woodwork at the end of the year too!:(

'Tis, he wasn't the nicest of teachers!
I'd like to do myself, seeing as about 90% of my year will be but I can't imagine staying in school for another 3 years!

TY is **** in my school. People regret TY when they're in sixth year anyway so there is no point really doing it.

I'm not gonna do it even though its really tempting to have an easy year but I know I'll regret it in 5th year when I could be in 6th year!!

depends on the type of person you are. ty suits some people really well, but others hate it. a lot of people say that you need to be a hard worker to do ty so that you won't be lazy when you go into fifth year. in our school the teachers are all having meetings at the minute debating whether to continue with ty or not. are other schools doing this? ty has been very successful in our school so far.

Ya its compulsary in my school also and if i didnt want to do it i would have to travel half an hour to another school so i pretty much have to do it.
Plus my school puts a good bit of an effort into it with days out and excxhanges and so on so it should be good craic and im young enough for my year as it is without going into leaving cert an extra year early. :D
