Heya,

Just thought I'd post this so it's easier to see for everyone. We've got an all irish / boards.ie guild on Shattered Hand - horde set up if anyone is interested in rerolling, transfering toons or just playing with other irish.

Conatact Mujumbu, Uttik or Kiith for an invite, although I think most members can invite.

We've got our 2 main tanks and a fair bit of ranged DPS so far. So healers and melee would be nice although of course we're taking everyone.

...but really, it's a very high population, on Horde side at least.
Awful lot of lag there experienced this evening too, though that could just be the hampsters going on meltdown before the weekly maintenance.

I really do sometimes wish there wasnt a seperation between North American and European Accounts. The best I can do is Oceania and thats way in the wrong direction - and I dont speak any Spanish so Latin America is definitely Out

I'm the same TD, it's going to cost me a fortune to shift servers, and change faction for my shammy, so I might just roll a DK instead. I can't face levelling anotehr alt to 80.

Rogues and hunters but just roll what you want mate. We've got more than 1 of everything so there's no worries really.

Yep we're aiming to clear all 10 man content (including hardmodes) as well as becoming one of the top world pvp guilds on the server. We'll show those chinese and swedes whose boss.

And don't worry too much about your gear for now, some people are still leveling so you have a pretty big head start. As long as you're Irish and not a prick, we'll take you.

Hey guys, me the boyfriend and a mate are all on bladefist on the horde side, we have a few level 80's each. Might be interested in coming over to join ye as it would be nice to actually talk to other Irish. Do you have a guild website set up? And what are ye loking for to start the 10 mans?

Who runs the guild?

I can sort you guys out with a good phpbb forum if you want. If you host on the free online guild sites, its usually dangerously slow to open up and navigate, but I can set you up your own forum direct on one of my servers.

Also when my current vent subscription runs dry, I'm running a vent server from my own server also, which has people limits of pretty much, anything.

So I would happily throw you guys a 15 man slot channel with subdivids if your itnerested.

I may or may not transfer my 80DK, hes not geared at all, but I wanted to get him geared and raid him. I'll let you know if I do, but I've so much on my plate at the moment with levelling my mage, paladin and keeping raiding on my druid and warlock, it might be a silly move.

Well we only have 5 lvl80's (Shammy, Priest, Warrior, Pally and DK) at the moment, as most of us are levelling from the start. Some of the lads are flying up, and are 50+ now, so it wont take long to get to lvl80. Sure roll a lvl1 char and chat to some of us ingame if there's anything else you'd like to know.

Its actually surprisingly active so far. Good turn out from the boards people.

I'm going to get a .com and a vbulletin liscence for the guild once we start raiding, but thanks anyway. I also believe Uttik has already set up a Vent server.

The Guild is grown nice and fast.

The plan is to get stuck in to the 10 man content, If we get enough, We can do the 25man.

We have a vent server setup already,


If we get enough active people. We will setup a website/forums and really push this. To be honest i don't see why this should not work.

Most of us have been playing WoW for years. Have been in other end game guilds. So why not have a top All Irish Raiding Guild.


If you dont feel like rerolling, Why not move your mains over.

And yes, faceroll indeed But right now i'd play with a single button attack macro and a bobbing head mechanical bird (homer style) if I could.

Only trouble is if so many of you roll DK's, you can only have so many in a raid and they're pretty worthless tanks compared to Paladins/Druids/Warriors. Unless you're fairly skilled and geared, they're also rubbish at tanking heroics in pugs, having to depend/hope on the healer being very good etc.,
I know you can be at odds with what I said but I have played one as a main for months on end since they were released and I know they just can't compare with proper more settled tanking classes.

Grand for pvp/farming though and nowt stopping you just joining and levelling for fun or dps'ing/off tanking if needed, I'm sure we'll be doing a fair bit of invading alliance towns once we've enough also

Don't let what I said put you off, just be aware is all that you could have a fair bit of competition for raid places if there's a load of other DK's.

Couldn't disagree with you more, i my DK tank, far more vesitile then my warrior tank, and the healers i know say its easier for them to heal too.

When you guys hit 80 i will move either my DK or my hunter, will probably move over my priest too. I really cant handle leveling a new toon on another realm with no gold and having to do professions all over again. I have a nice stockpile of gold atm from selling 2 battered hilts and a huge stockpile of epic gems.

I'm hoping when you say that, you mean totgc 25 a good bit in? Because the reality of it is there's actually a big difference between DK tanks and GOOD DK tanks that i've seen.

On Khadgar alone there has been such a dramatic drop off of DK tanks due to the changes in the last few patches where facerollers just found it too much bother to learn their class. Then I come across a minor few who either are just natural gamers, or who have taken the time to get to know their class and generate the most threat, and the best CD management to put themselves up as viable tanks up to ICC 25 festergut downs.

There are enough people who could come on here and say "Blah blah blah is the best DPS class because in our 25 man raids, they top the charts". However the reality is that in most mediocre guilds/setups, any particular knowledgeable player can top the DPS, or nearly top the DPS, with pretty much any class. It's such a rotation in the middle guilds these days between warlocks, mages, hunters, rogues, and paladins, that anyone can be forgiven for thinking their usual top dps suspects are the best class to play.

So the same comes down to tanks - if you see a lot of bad tanks of a certain class, you tend to think "It can't handle it".

I've seen DKs and even Warrior tanks (no derogatory meaning meant there, but we all know you have certain issues atm) doing exceptionally well in the hard hitting situational fight of Festergut (Something of a test to MTs), and doing well in Rotface (Something of a test for OT's, or so I hear? It doesn't seem that hard).

So when I hit 80, I intend to dual spec dps and prot. I'll likely move my mage or warlock over as I mentioned, but tanking is something that you're either born to do in WoW, or you just don't do well. Same as healing...

This is the reason I did my 'PEE'. I'm leveling enchanting and inscription on the DK atm. It may or may not do well with money, but at least I know from selling Armor vellums (as I level), there'll be a steady enough income. The issue seems to be leveling out of the DK starting area, and doing enough quests/instances, to fund enchanting to around 225, then DE all of the stuff you get in outland, and profit.

Inscription isn't as good, but it has its uses. I've not had a 400+ inscription toon before, so I don't know what it'll be like for money making. I'll find out soon enough though. The only problem I have with it is the shoulder enchant buffs, where if I got prot, i'll be likely taking the PvP 30stam enchant over the increased dodge (relatively useless in ICC) enchant.

Going to transfer my Resto (80) Shammy over. Still levelling up the Druid (which will be Healing at 80 also) but need to take a break from levelling every now and again so will instance with the Shaman to improve his gear between levelling.

whats shattered hand like as a server? Im mainly referring to raid pugs, wintergrasp, community and population.

right now Im on Sylvanas, that server seems so dry/dead to me community wise. and wg is a boring "whoever is attacking always wins" scenario.

The server is much busier then my old realm anyway (Executus), so im definitely thinking of transering over one of my lvl80's once i get paid next month. €40 quid though, for the server then faction change, is quite expensive. Blizzard are really milking the game for all its worth.

Raid pugs are going all the time and ICC 10 is done aswell, not sure how successfully doh , WG is dominated by the horde and server pop is about 65-35 Horde Id say
