    Everything from previous runs to weight, to the jockey booking. I watch alot of races without any money being on a horse and see how they do, pick 1 or 2 of them i think ran well but didn't get any luck in running and back them the next day, as i did with The Scorching Wind.

    2:40 Limerick - Vintage Oak - 5pts @ 3/1

    Point winner. Was set to record comfortable success in similar event here over Christmas only to stumble and fall shortly after the last. Looks the one to beat, should be around 3/1 so it's a decent price for him

    Won off same mark last week, if in same form as last week it'll take all the beating here.

    2:00 - My Mate Mal

    Backed him LTO when he was backed from 8's to 9/2 and failed, i like my failed gambles so going for him again here. Won't be as nice a price though. :(

    2:30 - Not My Choice

    On a long losing run but has ran decently in it's last 3 races. Hopefully will be in with a shout tomorrow.

    3:30 - Ponting

    Won LTO, and at a career high mark but doesn't look like the toughest of races to win and seems to have a nice turn of speed.

    Yeah, 45% or so for me. Profit is profit no matter how small it is, all adds up at the end of the day.

    Which is why i've started only picking between 2 and 4 horses a day instead of the stuff i was doing at the start. It's hard enough to make a few quid without picking 10 donkeys. :D

    Would of been nice if he'd of won, Ostentation was well fancied though.

    Yeah Kempton and Lingfield should be a bit of fun. Looking forward to the next Wolverhampton though. :)

    12:40 - Chanrossa

    Runner-up on last 4 tries over C&D, shaped as if still in form over trip too far here last time. Back to mark of when it came second here on the 30th of December, should be in with a shout at around 3/1 hopefully.

    1:10 - Espy

    Back to form on first run for current stable when runner-up over 6f at Wolverhampton in December. Better than bare result over 7f last time and serious contender back down in trip and in grade also.

    2:15 - I Confess

    Twice successful off higher marks at up to 1m here at the beginning of summer. Not quite scaled the same heights since, but quite consistent all the same and dangerous if allowed to dominate.

    Kempton picks to come tomorrow at some stage.

    5:30 - Absa Lutte @ 11/4

    Won 3 times over 5f/6f here towards end of 2009. Caught too far back (travelled strongly) when fourth over C&D last time and another good effort on the cards.

    7:00 - Turf Time @ 4/1

    Has come to life last 4 starts, winning at Wolverhampton last month then third there 4 days later. Remains on a fair mark, has a decent draw and should go well once more.

    7:30 - Josiah Bartlett @ 12/1 (.5pts e/w)

    Hit and miss since winning over this trip at Lingfield last February. Capable in this sort of event if in the mood and stable enjoying a good winter.
