I only bought 500 Eley Super Game 6's about 3 weeks ago for just over €100. So for €220 you should get 1000 Eley 6's. I assume the price you quoted was for the 7.5's? If you can get the 6's for that price go for it. They will do what the 7.5 will do and what a 6 will do, whereas the 7.5 will only do what a 7.5 will do. (If you can understand that logic )

If you don't mind me saying, i wouldn't use the game cartridges for clays. From a purely cost point of view they are dearer than clay designated cartridges. Put it another way, for €220 you get 1000 game cartridges, for €150-€160 you get 1000 clay cartridges. Thats an extra €60-€70. Better off in your pocket.

thanks for all your help. i get your logic alright.
the only reason i was going to go for the seven and a halves was i was told it would give me a greater chance of hitting the target, im only starting out to be honest and the aim aint what it sould be. .
always great to hear what the pros have to say thanks again.

You forgot the smiley face after this line.

I'm no pro. Everyday is a school day for me. I only try tell lads about my experiences and see if it helps them avoid the same pitfalls. There are lads here with far more experience and expertise than me, thats why i get involved, to add my bit then see the other responses and see if anything new pops up.

I use 7.5s on pigeons in a wood i shoot locally and while good enough for close shots and for a wider spread (hence more target hitting) they may not be strong enough for a good, clean kill. If you are worried about hitting try the 6s but change chokes to adjust the spread of your shot.

its good to get the advise of others alright. im going to be doing much more practicing on the clays after the season finishes up so i decided to get some 6's and more 7.5's till i sort my aim out. spent the last week trying to sort my dog out. she's been acting up a bit so havent really had the 100% concentration on my quarry. all part of the fun though. oh i nearly fogot :D:D:D
