The C&H Photography Thread

So, having taken on board some of the feedback in the Happy Birthday thread, I've been thinking about how to come up with some new thread ideas. My first good idea: a photography thread.

Some simple ground rules:

• maximum of three pictures per post
• do not quote images in replies
• off-topic chat will be deleted/moved
• only post images that you have taken yourself
• the usual site-wide rules about acceptable picture content still apply

Seeing as it's Christmas time, I'm expecting some good shots over the next few weeks

Love this picture. Out of no-where a few horses started chasing me and they were fast, here's one of them. I didn't wait around to get a picture the rest!

I've tried to put more pics up but it really isn't working. I'll get more up when I can. Great images here though

Do ye just use digital cameras? Or do you have big fancy things? Kate's pictures in particular look too good to be from your average digital camera...

Mine's a Digital SLR camera (one of the big fancy things). It's an entry level one though, so obviously you can get much better than what I have, trying to save up for a new lens at the moment.
It's one expensive hobby to have.

Here's a few of mine... The only ones I've already uploaded to pix.ie but I have some better ones on my external harddrive somewhere!!!

Before commenting, consider everything except the mirror pic is taken on a 3 year old 5 megapixel LIDL camera!:o







EDIT: 4th Pic looked way clearer before I uploaded it.

I'm fairly new to this idea as well

I'd recommend people pick the one photograph they're happiest with each time they post.

After about 30 deleted photos, I finally got this beggar! He was riding the wind above me, and kept moving as soon as I would go to take a photo!

A couple of years ago I was a trainee crew member on the Asgard for the Tall Ships Race. We sailed from Liverpool to Norway and it was hands down one of the best experiences of my life! The fact that I was on the ship went she left Ireland for the last time before her sinking makes the whole event even more surreal.

Anyway you've no idea how hard it was for me to pick just one photo out of the 500-600 I took during that month, so I've had to settle for this one. It was taken on this little island called Kalvag along the Norweigan coast. There were only 300 people living on the island at the time so they treated us like royalty while we there. In return we decided to put on a little show for them by doing a harbour stow, so while the other crew members were up on the mast and everyone else watched on, I went out on the digny and took a few shots. This was one of them...
