Totally hypothetical question

This really is a hypothetical question, but I would like an answer, or a good guess, if you can manage one.

Okay, a 250lb bodybuilder, with bodyfat of 5%. What would be a good average squat and bench press for him?

And if he happened to have a home gym, what is the heaviest kettlebell he is likely to be able to swing at the head of a nasty alien?

Bearing in mind he is beyond lean at 5% he presumably has more than a few years training behind him,

I would say bench 140kg, squat 190kg, I have no idea on a kettlebell though. Say he can clean 110kg, so maybe a 65kg bell,

id say a hell of alot more, id say more along the lines of a 160-170 bench and a 250+ squat

id say 250lbs at 5% hes gotta be hitting over the 200kg squat 160 bench...is he able to use kettle bells correctly?........wait a minute....and alien?

we all know its not the size of the bell that counts...its how you use it :)

For a single, it'd have to be 220kg+ squat and 180kg bench imo. The squat's unlikely for most BB's I've seen, bench is more realistic.

I know a 230lh bodybuilder with a bf% of 12ish % hitting a 210kg bench for example. I know another of around the same weight, but near competition leaness at that weight he was incline benching 75kg 'bells for sets of 5, which translates to well over a 180kg bench.

So definitely a 180kg bench at the minimum, and a 220kg squat (cos I'm thinking in plates today!)

at 5 % bodyfat and 250lb he would be in competition condition and would probably be unable to lift anything without cramping up from dehydration lol

He's five foot ten, he's a computer geek who lifts obsessively and does swing dancing for fun. He's popular as a dance partner, as he can lift ALL his partners! He lost a fair bit of bodyfat when he got kidnapped by aliens, and he now has an alien girlfriend. He eats steak and broccoli with olive oil and loves Irish cream flavour whey shakes.

OOOoooh, don't know about that. That might necessitate opening the top hatch  as most of the ammo is on the outside

Probably not such a good idea on a submarine of any kind :p

    He's a bodybuilder... it doesn't matter a **** what he's lifting, it's what he looks like he's lifting!!

In this case it does. I need him to swing a kettlebell at a nasty alien with enough force to bash its skull in. I'd like the kettlebell to be heavy enough to do serious damage, but not so heavy it's unlikely he could swing it.

Grabs it and swings up. But he's moving at the same time, so that might help.

No, but the aliens really love eating humans, so he spent a lot of time trying not to look too tasty.

Some pros who weigh in around that at that BF have 220kg presses for reps. Squats of 300ish too.

I guess there are so many factors involved though, it's hard to say.

For a standing strict press? I dunno there is always lots of chat about these and how accurate they are but I think a 75kg press at 82kg is good going

In case anyone is interested, I FINISHED MY BOOK TODAY!!!

Of course, that means that in a couple of weeks, I'll be doing rewrites, so I'll have lots of questions about what sort of exercises you could do to stay strong on an Alien ship with less than earth gravity, etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,829 ✭✭✭TommyKnocker

    Hi There

Didn't know you were writing a book (fairly newbie), but congrats on finishing.

So you have probably earned a few days to put your feet up, kick back and enjoy the festive season :) Time enough for rewrites in the new year.

Not sure that I can be much help with exercises on an alien ship with zero gravity, having never been abducted myself :D

P.S. The recipe for the cottage cheese mousses rocks, Thanks a bunch.

    Best Regards & Seasons Greetings,

    M

    Thanks!

Not a zero gravity ship, just less than earth gravity. And since they are tasty, they are kept away from the ship's crew, so no access to gym. Of course, on an alien ship, there are no cheat meals...

Are you on acid by any chance??:P

No. Anything stronger than coffee makes it really tough to write.
