I wouldn't expect much from them out of the box. Add additional IR and maybe you'll see to 100 yards, maybe.

My advice, save up the pennies and spend it on something like a Yukon Excelon or Yukon Digital Ranger.

These were available over 3 years ago from Lidl. I bought a pair "to have". Not bad, but as John said, good for 100 even 150yds with the IR but at 150 its not very clear. Anything inside that distance though and for the price they're not bad.

I have two cheapo lidl/aldi NV units and one is linked to IR filtered lightforce 170mm with light weight lithium battery and i can see eye shine up 300yards away!!

No, they're for seeing, not for calling foxes.

    "Night VISION" not "night CALLING"

I cannot make it any simpler

I had a cheap Russain monocular night vision unit years ago, I bought a large infrared filter from the UK and fitted that to my Coleman million plus lamp, with that I could see a foxes eyes at 500+ and his shape at 250+, I had the unit mounted on top of the lamp also, the million power inferred lamp made the unit very powerful, it was great fun watching foxes run in to you, wee laser keyring was handy too for pointing out foxes location to the rifle, I got some really lamp shy foxes with that set up, but in the end I got fed up with nearly going blind in one eye from white out every time a bush was up close and also it takes ages to use a infered kit, a really good lad with a lamp whos skilled is faster and you cover more miles if you get my drift. when using a infered lamp all you see is a small red blip from the light source, but any one else using the same kit will spot you a mile away as you'll be lighting up the country side for them also, it turns a cheap yoke into a very good unit.

Best of luck, mouse call works great with it.
