Was at the gig on Monday night and although he was obviously not feeling very well, I really enjoyed the show, some great links and the Raptor/Rat Face driving the car was very creative, was amazed at some people leaving during the show but it's better than them heckling.

The first 10-15 mins of the second half were a bit hard to get back into, but thats the way it goes.

It was all good clean family fun and I think most of the audience where I was sitting (up in the gods on the third level) did enjoy the gig, it was not a best of tour but if you really want to hear him at his original and most creative buy or borrow the DVD of Definitive Article or Dress to Kill.

A much better behaved audience than the Russell Brand gig a few weeks ago, which is very positive as there has been a lot of negative stuff about the audiences at the 02, I wonder were the bars closed during the show ? As i did not see anyone coming back with booze.

Just two questions about the 02 arena if anyone knows:

What is the real story with bottle tops ? can we not be trusted with these little pieces of plastic ?

What are the criteria the 02 angels (mostly the blonde girls in white dresses) use to determine your suitability for the blue plastic wristband that allow you access to the doors with four security guards on the ground floor next to the 02 shop/phone display area ? (we were there very early and saw lots of people getting these and the angels walked past us, three times, we were all dressed respectably and not drinking alcohol)

^_^ I loved it. El sister gave me and the other half super-tickets for Christmas - she wins at gifts. First time in the O2 and we'd a series of hot angels in teeny dresses leading us around - that's the way to do it!

Poor Eddie was a bit sniffly but I thought he was still great, I want a Jazz Chicken so badly now, and the terms and conditions bit was great - my other half writes 'em!

Btw, I cheered at the boardsie tweet on Monday night, got some weird looks, but it stopped before mine went up.

*edit* I had a yellow wristband for the Indigo lounge - got me a shiny slave! Dunno what the blue ones did - I know there were orange ones going into the premium club.

Oh, and for those not happy with him losing his train of thought - have you seen any of his other shows? He does that all the time - his head's like a sieve!

the train of thought thing is ridiculous...he does the same thing every night....either "lets get a coffee" "use the bazooka" or "the scene isnt supposed to go on this long" - every night, the fact that people think its ad libbed makes him all the better!

i was in and out all night (supposed to be workin so i couldnt just watch the full gig, the bits i saw i thought were great and the throw back to the rapter with the bowler hat kept makin me laugh!

btw for the person wanting to get into the blue room, talk to the angels dont expect them to come up to you, you start a conversation and if they have passes you will be let in, if you arrived late they may not have had any left, the blue room tends to fil very quickly (its not big!)

its just another bar, but it has seats and you get your beer in a glass not a plastic cup (thats why i go there) and the angels (girls in incrediblty short skirts) are there to flirt shamelessly with every guy in the place (they are in the main area too but they walk around alot there)!

there is also an upstairs area in it with comfy fancy lookin booths but you have to reserve them (and im genuinely not sure how you do that)

oh and to clear something up:
question about the 02 arena if anyone knows:

the bottle caps arent the problem, the problem is a closed bottle is like a missile, you throw a full bottle with the cap on it could knock someone clean out, if the cap is off the water floods out of the bottle, it wont go as far and doesnt hurt anywhere near as much if it hits someone! THATS the real story! hope this helps!

Thanks for the update on the bottle tops issue, I thought it was bizarre but as explained it does make sense (Given the hostile people the O2 has attracted at The Nolans, Russell Brand and Cat Stevens) to make the bottles safe.

Also will make it a goal to get into the blueroom on my next trip, a beautiful Angel will be spoken to.

are you serious? the nolans was full of ridiculously drunk women screaming at each other, there were fights all over the place, people escorted out and everything, russel brand ended way too early so people werent happy, and there was f*ckin war at the cat stevens gig!

you can NEVER judge a book by its cover, you wouldnt expect toruble at the above gigs but believe you me there was, where as the flip side of the coin, there was not a bother at the prodigy gig!

hence the blanket ban,..,.....you cant pick and change depending on the gig, you'll get it wrong alot of the time!
Also will make it a goal to get into the blueroom on my next trip, a beautiful Angel will be spoken to.

if you're there early enough you will, i recommend it, nice and comfy!

now back on topic: eddie izzard is great!
