Same I can get the game on launch but have to wait to Christmas till I get the wheel!

I could probably do the same, but I think I'll wait to experience both at the same time.

Anyone got any prices for GT5? I think the Standard Edition is €44.99 in HMV and €47 in Harvey Norman. It's £35.90 on the Tesco UK site, so hopefully it'll also be €45 or less here. If anyone knows of any other prices, it'd be much appreciated.

Just 7 more hours and my 5+ years of waiting will be over at last.

    7 Hours ? A midnight launch ?

I highly doubt you'll be able to play while it's installing, doesn't look like installing saves a huge amount of time either according to this. Although over the life span of the game though I'm sure it does.

Has anyone heard of any stores bundling the game with a decent steering wheel such as the driving force gt??
Update: It took approximately 1 minute 25 seconds to upload the 'Tokyo R246' track (raced with a Lotus Elise) without installing the game, while the exact same feat took 40 seconds after installation. That's not much of a time saving at all, is it?

I think that was sarcasm on their part. A 45 second improvement seems huge to me. 'Optional' install almosts sounds incorrect. Tis a must.

I'm hoping the 24-hour Tesco in Dundrum will have it at midnight.

Just reading some forums, watching a few preview videos. The game seems to be getting a very lukewarm reception.

Thats a false statement, you can play and it installs as you play through the game

Whats the story with gamestop if you put down a reserve? I think you get a few free downloadable cars or something, I saw this on the way into gamestop but didn't take much notice. Anyone know more details?

Yep, it will install new cars and tracks as and when you get/use/play them.

One solution would be to kill two birds with one stone and have a peddal and crank, getting it out of the way, and maybe a big bowl of cornflakes after while doing a full install.

With reviews due out first thing in morning. Are bad review scores gonna stop anyone here from buying ?

No. Only if generally it was regarded as being worse than Prologue I'd reconsidder.

Any one got an update on where it might be got at midnight.

Friend ordered off gamestop.ie and it got delivered today!! He is playing it now, in Dublin, lol.

Tried a few places this evening, no chance I was told.

Anyway, if any one in Dublin knows where to grab a copy tonight or extremely early tomorrow, pray tell.

Do Gamestop email the preorder code to you or is it loose in the box? Hope my parents don't lose the code on me.

Depends. If they're nitpicking over stupid things then I won't mind. I always look out for serious problems pointed out in reviews though....and then ignore them and pay for it anyway, haha.

What's the price on this game. Had GT1 years ago and still rank it as one of the best games of all time.

I've watched and read loads this evening and it looks awesome. Complaints seem to be small niggly things which is normal. A lot of complaining about standard cars.

Whats pissing me off is that some of the tracks from 4 are gone. No Seattle is a killer for me.

What I cant wait for is to take the 1970 Mach1 Mustang round the ring with changable wather and day to night changes. Damn!!!:D

    Same here.

The penalties in prologue were annoying, I can't see why they the terrain can't just slow a car down when you take a short cut as apposed to disabling power for a few seconds and now that there is damage i hope we can crash into cars and just get the damage effects instead of a penalty.

I was so disappointed in tourist trophy that when you fell off, you flashed back onto the track instead of running over and picking up the bike again. Small niggles i suppose. looking forward to the licenses. I have been redundant since June but just started a FAS course this week, talk about bad timing.

What car do they use on Top Gear for the celebrity leaderboard runs? Or is it different sometimes?
