I knows! I has been sad ever since I first noticed the early 1990s grunge look coming back. Since I already did it in my early teens, I can't bring myself to repeat it! :o

My first fashion memory, right here:

Man, how I loved those shoes!

oh i remember wanting them so badly.. i think it was around my communion. i dont think i ever got them :(

    :(

I think at least half the girls at my Communion had magic steps! We managed to get the last white patent pair in Limerick in my size for mine and I was so happy, I insisted on carrying the bag around for the rest of the day :o

I remember that ad!!! I wanted those shoes so much, that's brilliant marketing in fairness. I think that ad is why I've always wanted some sort of chest or wardrobe with a gigantic ornate key.

Good lord, clearing out my room. So many empty Topshop and Penney's bags :p I've given a load of stuff to charity shop and teenage neighbours, and the same again just in the bin! Too lazy to ebay/adverts any of it.
I have found loads of summer bits though that I totally forgot I had. Winter stuff is all gone in boxes in the attic too. Feels good :)

If you want your woman to look lovely and wear lovely clothes you'll have to accept that she needs a lot of space to put them away! My coat collection takes up a lot of space... :D

Oh I was just needeling you for leaving me out of the "Need Space" gang. Us boys occasionally need a bit of extra space in the walkin wardrobes. My hats take up an entire wall of shelving. :o

I always have a giggle seeing couples first move in together and she 'allows' him one drawer in the chest of drawers and space for two hangers on the rail. :)

Someone has knicked all my underwear! I bought a load of really nice underwear last week and it was just sitting in the bag in my room and I went in this morning and realised it's gone!

I'll be moving most of my clothes to my boyfriend's house in a couple of weeks and in preparation I bought a 3 drawer storage thing in Ikea. I may find some space in the wardrobe if I'm lucky. I think he must hoard clothes though because I don't understand how he has managed to fill a 4 door wardrobe with such a lack of interest in shopping.

does your mum ever "helpfully" put things away for you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,195 ✭✭✭✭Michellenman

Nope! No one in my house has seen it apparently! And it was in the bag inside a huge dunnes bag with other stuff in it and the whole bag is gone!:eek:

    that's mental.

I have a sort of dressing room now and I still don't have enough space:rolleyes:

My boyfriend thinks it's hilarious now; though it exasperated him when we first moved into together.....or maybe that was down to the one drawer and space for 2 hangers he was given at the time:p

We've since moved to a bigger place and I still don't have enough room.

    I give up:(

I have become obsessed with Carrie's turban in SATC2! So, I had a go at a "turband".

Just a scarf wrapped around the back of the head, knot once above your forehead, then cross over the two long bits that are left. Finally tuck the remaining at the back. Gonna get some cheap costume brooches for a bit of bling on the front! Have yet to master it with my hair down...

That looks great Twee, Where did you get the scarf?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

I just found it in my house! It's about one metre long and about a foot wide, but a smaller width would be grand. Any scarf long enough to be wrapped will do. I've been experimenting with all sorts today, patterned, chiffon, silk! If there's any fabric shops near you, look out for some remnants.

This is the kind of shape you need I suppose.

Thanks very much, I saw it on the trailer for movie and thought it looked great
but hadn't a clue how to tie it!

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 9,721 Mod ✭✭✭✭Twee.

Same as myself, just saw it and thought WANT!! If you're in Dublin, my mate got a full head one in The Harlequin, but I think the headband type one will be a bit easier to pull off!

Thanks, It will probably be a case of trial and error lol
    It looks great though.

Good job Twee, looks great. I wear headscarves and tie it at a knot on the top of my head, but wouldn't be brave enough to do a full turban :)

Twee, I think I passed you on the South Quays today at around 4'oclock, either that or a girl who looks a bit like you! Only realised after why you/ she looked familiar :)

Twee, that scarf is a gorgeous colour! Looks great on you too :)

I'm more of a hat girl (love my hat collection!) myself but maybe I should experiment more!

Mmm I do love hats too. Winter is the best, I am all hats :D Have had my eye on a boater hat for summer though, think it could be quite cute, like Madeleine! 2221947803_2f6198c940.jpg?v=0
