Coiste an Asgard abolished in Budget

    They're updated their Facebook page but nothing yet on their official website.

    It really is a sad day for everyone that's been involved with the Asgard or any form of sail training in the past. The abolition is saving the government a measly €800,000, which is nothing in grand scheme of things in yesterdays budget.

    Just the tip of the iceburg of a devastating 15 months for everyone associated with the Asgard :(

    What have you done with OUR €3.8 million that your dept. received in compensation from the insurers of Asgard II? Why the recent change of mind? This will not be forgotten by the boating and coastal communities of Ireland!
