You accuse others of wearing green glasses, but I find it hard to figure out what kind of glasses you are wearing. As I said in an earlier post, you seem to be focusing entirely on the negative.

Yes, he had a bad run of holes before the turn and it could have gone all pear shaped. But it didn’t. He steadied the ship and played exceptionally well over the back nine to pick up what I think is his biggest ever cheque and a load of FedEx Cup and world ranking points.

Fair play to him, I say. And I don’t need to be wearing green glasses to say that.

You've had a mare here, stop trying to double down on it.

Overall a brilliant day for Irish pro golfers.

Rorys mindset was spot on, even to shot selection on 18th to close out with room to spare, something he might not have done in the past to his cost.Played within himself i thought

Shane played solid especially on the back nine. The two of them seemed to enjoy themselves, great to see.

And great finish by Seamus and Leona Maguire too.

    Overall, an enjoyable weekends golf.

To add to the good weekend for Irish Golf, Gakway Rookie, Liam Nolan finished 4th on the challenge tour to back up his 3rd place last week. A promising start to his pro career

Nolan made 37k in the two weeks which is big by that levels standards, very encouraging start for him

I wonder did Shane forget himself today and let a roar at Bo…

Chip in birdies on 6 and 7 for Shane. Nicely placed now.

Could easily be leading as shots he dropped really were down to terrible shots. Could have 4 putted 10 going by the first two putts and drive on 18. Very good after that

He's been playing better and more important he's been consistent in his last few tournaments. There's been none of these horrific rounds.

Just about to come in to big up the big maN and he slices one off the tee possibly OOB.

Shane hits the bank at 11 from the middle of the fairway.

Great up and down for par.

Another good break on tee shot on par 5 12.

Ball kicks out of rough onto fairway.

Shane is taking advantage of his good breaks.

    Savage putt

Great birdie on 13 from 20 plus feet and McIlroy follows him in.

    Great stuff.

Brilliant par save on 14 followed by a solid drive on 15.

Ridiculous bogey on a par 5

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,164 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Missed opportunity considering the way Clarke has messed up with the OOB

Terrible, he should be ashamed to sign for his 68 and the clubhouse lead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 131 ✭✭JoyceDavenport

    Great birdie on 18 for a 67.

Brilliant round on a tough course.

    Great finish

    Clubhouse lead on 8 under.

Putter the difference. T6 in putting.

Crazy round +1 on par 5’s today and signs for 67. Not sure if that’s good or bad. By that you can’t expect to shoot +1 on par 5’s and then shoot -6 for other 14 holes on a tough course but he’s playing well also to shoot that’s score.

Does he have a new putter and a new driver?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,380 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

He shot 67. If you're having a dig, at least get the facts right

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,504 ✭✭✭dublin49

He definitely got his share of luck today but he did take advantage ,imagine the course will bite him in next 2 days and he needs to hang in when it does.

Last year he switched from his trusted odyssey 2ball to a TM spider. That was when he won the Zurich classic with Rory. Just like Scheffler who can thank Rory for that suggestion and improved putting since then. Driver I'm not sure what he's playing but he did break his gamer recently.

His mid and long range putts are better. Probably still misses the odd shorter one but his approach play is class atm.
